My name is Bill Wachtler and I am old enough to remember racing with Hap Mulveny back in the 50's. I am 60 years old and have been married to my wife Chris for 38 years. We have three children and four grandchildren. When I quit racing the outboards on went on to midget and sprint car racing. Throw in some late models and snowmobiles and you have the whole deal. I did RC airplanes for about ten years before I started boats and have been doing them for about five now. The only reason I do RC is because of the competition and boats are the best. The best part of RC boat racing is you get the thrill of the competition but you don't have to sit in it. I no longer have the desire to sit in anything that might hurt me. I live in Minnesota but will soon be moving to Wisconsin. I have been in trucking for over 20 years and am currently the director of maintenance for a large trucking company in Minnesota. Sorry Mike I don't like heavy metal but love your truck. Bill

Fool, I'm with you on the painting thing. <_< Right out of high school, I worked for a general contractor during the summers while I was in college. & then as a grunt for a pole barn company building everything from garages to huge storage buildings. I learned enough to be dangerous with a hammer! LOL I get asked all the time to "help" with "little" projects. The only projects I won't help with is painting!

My name is Joe Grace. I'm the current president of the Jackson Tn. R/C Model Boaters. Home of the 2004 internats. I'm 45. My wife is Lesa. I have been married 27 yrs. One daughter two grandkids. I've done factory work, Painted cars for about 5 yrs, Worked at Youth Town Of Tennessee for little over 8 yrs. There we lived with and took care of 10 to 12 kids from ages 8-18. It was a home for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Along with the kids we raised our own hogs, cattle, hay, grain and vegetables. Loved every minute of it !! We did all the maintenance work on all of the housings, cars, trucks, and farming equipment. It was a 24/7 job but we got one weekend a month off. Then I went to work for Jackson Utility Division where I was a senior pipe layer for 14 yrs but I also worked with the electric and gas end of it too. I now work as a maintenance supervisor at a local private school. Dang I'm tired !!! Plan to retire at 55 and do nothing but race R/C boats if I live that long. I raced a little motocross when I was growing up. Started rabit hunting when I was 9 and hunted with my dad till he lost his health. Flew R/C planes for a few yrs. Love to duck hunt and fish for smallmouth bass and the big stripers. This was my second year in R/C boats. I don't care if it's nitro or gas. I love it all. Right now I'm racing a avenger cat with a QD 25, a 45 seaducer with a cmb evo, a speedmaster 21 with one bad to the bone novarossi 21. Hope to get a HTB 290 set up with a novarossi 21 this summer.

See you at the 2004 nats. :D

Hi Guy's

My names Gary Tyrrell (hence GTRacing), I am 42 years young - refuse to grow up. Have been married for 16 years to Sharon, have one son Jon 6 years. Have been mixed up in Modelling since about 12 years old. Used to fly control line, moved on to RC planks, have some fun playing with boats, to a break from models and road raced a Yamaha TZ 350 for a couple of years, kinda hurt myself so couldn't race anymore. Went boating again, had a go at Helis, raced 1/10th, 1/8th & 1/5th scale on-road cars, played a bit more with helis, decide to give boats another go round. Really love tunnels, and boats that look like boats - not a big rigger fan but to each their own.

There's not much in modelling I can't do for myself, I paint, weld, machine, fiberglass and a bunch of other stuff. Forgot to mention the whole time I've been playing since I gave up racing bikes I've been building (rebuilding) full size cars and pick-ups. Gotta keep busy. Have more projects on the go at any one time that a dozen of me could keep up with.

My job, to much stress, too many hours, but it gives me the money to buy the stuff I want. As they say money can't buy happiness but it makes the path to misery smoother. Oh yeah, I'm a civil servant working for my government. We develop financial plans and perform resource analysis for a 70,000 strong workforce. I head up a team of nine people and we are pretty busy all year round.

Hope everyone has a good and safe Christmas

All the best from Full Tilt Racing - the home of performance race boats.

My name is Ian Inverarity, I am 29 and single. I live in Adelaide, Australia. I work as mechanical design engineer and design special purpose automation equipment and other mechanical stuff from space sattelite parts to CNC machines for modifying amoured personnel carriers. The facilities at my work which I co-opt into modelling use include conventional mills and lathes, a CNC lathe and a 3 axis CNC mill, surface grinders, EDM machines and more. This enables me to make most of my own hardware.

I got interested in RC stuff at school when friends had RC cars and planes, and have tried both, but only got serious with boats. My first boats were electric. My first nitro boat was a K&B outboard powered mono of my own design, which didnt really work. I started racing in Adelaide in 95, I was racing a K&B 21 powered MRP Mach 1 tunnel. I quickly saw that riggers were what I wanted to do tho! I have also raced gas monos, 90 mono's, 21 hydros, 45 hydros, 90 hydros....and 21 multi boats!

I like 'alternative' music.....

I am also an F1 car racing fanatic. :D

Nitrocrazed racing: This is your life....

My name is Rodney Guerrero.

I too like Grim make babies. I have 6 of them. 4 boys and 2 girls ranging from 9 years old down to 3 days old, literally me and the wife had number 6 this Wedsnesday night.

Me and Natalie have been married almost 11 years this January and yes all those 6 kids were made only by us!

We own our own home in California and you probably guess were Catholic! Our kids attend Catholic school.

I love Rock and Roll but will listen to any kind of music. My favorite is the old 80's rock.

Started running boats 18 years ago. My first boat was a PratherDeep-Vee with a hooky side exhaust .61 with a Schnerule port.

Now I've moved onto tunnels and have become addicted to 1/8 scales and Sport 20's & 40's. I have become freinds w/a couple other racers who share the same interest so I plan to enjoy this race season. Especially since I'll have 4 kids in the "Kids are Boaters too class"

I work as a Key Account Manager for Frito-Lay, the world's Largest Salty Snack company called Frito-Lay. It's a ggod job with a lot of perfs. LOL

Yo Rodney,

Congrats on the new addition :D

I don’t know how you can afford tuition for all those kids.....you must be getting group rates ;)

must be tough going out to restaurants and waiting on a table for 8

LOL...Yeah you better believe those waiters are waiting on us hand and foot so we'll hurry and get the hell out of that joint!...LOL

As for the tuition, man it's tough but you make it work by cutting every fun thing out of your life but r/c boats. HAHAHAHA

Hi guys,

My name is Jason Chan, 35 and still single..... I come to live in Hong Kong from Los Angeles over a decade ago. I am a business consultant for investment and production sourcing in China.

I had to make a confession.....my major r/c hobby is NOT boating but in helicopters. I am a team member of the Hong Kong helicopter team, and is sponsored by several major r/c manufacturers in Japan. I goes to r/c trade shows and competitions around the world every year, and made some money in r/c parts production. I used to own a r/c heli shop, but due to fights between me and my partner I jump shipped due to frustration....If you are also in r/c helicopter, you might have know me already.....

I come across boating actually mid 2003, when the field that I flew was closed by the local government. Without a field, and a hot summer, me and my buddies all of a sudden went to a pond and tried boats, and we never turn back. We developed a deserted pond that was used for raising fishes into our boat pond. At first, we started with electric kits from Kyosho, then onto 21 size tunnels from ABC, then onto 21 size racing monos. We've successfully drawn a few planes and heli guys to our ponds. Our group has come a long way during these months in boating and luckily several guys in our bunch placed into top 3 positions in our local 21 mono race. We once thought of progressing into 45 size boat, but due to some bad experience of me with a CMB Evo 2/2 engine our bunch decided to remain only in 21 boats for the moment.

For next year, we already made resolution that we would put more time in boats and try to get one of our guys to place first in local 21 class mono. We would also try riggers too.

I am glad to have found Intlwaters because I learnt a lot in here, and would pass along what I learnt to my boat buddies. I think we could not achieve what we have now without the help of Intlwaters. Thanks Tom for building such a nice website.

Hey guys

My name is Chris Wood, 26, I live in ankeny, ia. Ya i know the corn state. better than the cheese state ( gottcha mike z. )

I currently work for a company called dmb supply. they sell and dist nuts and bolts i am a salesman. I started in this hobby when i was ten. My father got me into r.c. cars, then slot cars, and then boats.

My first boat was a 40 mono, sytler with a rossi 80 wow hold on lol!!! then went to hydros and havent looked back.

I have yet to win a us 1 but I hope to in the future.

I am engaged not yet married ( ya i know, i still have time to escape lol )

I got certified in mig, tig, and arc welding and have some machining experience thanks to my father.

I love this sport and hope to continue it for many years.

My name is Justin Antoni, more commonly known as "Grub" (thanks Dad), I'm 30 years old, been married to Michelle for 5 years, no kids other than my boats and I live on the Central Coast of NSW, which is about a 1 hour drive north of Sydney. For the past ten years I have been an auctioneer for Australias largest privately owned auction company, Pickles Auctions (yep, I get up, yell and scream and hang sh!t on people all day).

Started racing 1/8th gas on-road cars with my Dad in about 1980 or 1981 (long time ago) then raced just about everything we could, 1/8th gas off-road buggies, 1/10th electric off-road and on-road and finally got the boat bug in 1987. Got out of it for a couple of years cause I moved to Tasmania but now getting right back into it.

My Dad, Peter, has been the biggest influence over the years as he has always been the one making the cars or boats go as fast and reliable as possible and making them look sh!t hot. There is nothing like having a pit man that has been beside you since you were born as he knows what I am capable of and I know the cars or boats were put together right. I just have to get more boats to keep him busy as everyone always wants to use him as their pit-man, not mentioning any names, but Winks could almost be a part of the family.

Other than boats other interests include any form of motorsport, surfing every day (when I can) and going to the pub.

Grub.

My Name is Mike. I am 24, and live in West michigan by scot and wade. You'll recognize me as the one wearing baggy clothes a sharks tooth around my neck and looking like i either got hit by a truck, or really hungover ;) .

I currently work at radioshack. but am looking for a better job.

I just graduated from ITT with an associates of Computer sicences and networking, in december. I also have my certifications.. but most of them are outdated, so my next goal is to get them all renewed. I just turned down a job in denver, and put a bid in on a networking solution for a company in Traverse City. if this bid goes through this will be my third offical venture into networking and computer busines ownership. I got into computers in highschool and walked outta highschool with my novell 4.11 cert.

on the side I admin/mod a few msg boards, build custom computers and computer cases, small aquariums ( i am tring my hand at homemade rock formations for saltwater), and from time to time modify or build furniture. I also have a collection of old radios and records of swing / jazz era music. but my favorites are exactly what PJ put down ;) . AEROSMITH RULES! sorry :p

I grew up in a auto shop, first my uncles, then my dads, my dad recently purchased the company from my cousin. as far as automobiles i was definantly born in the wrong era. My pride and joy is a 68 MGB, and i am currently seeking to purchase a 70's cutlas drop top, once again. I have raced my MG and mountain bikes. I was on the competative circuit for mountain bikes till my accident.. i still ride and am playing with the idea of going amature once again.

for pets i have a cat which i have raised by hand from 1 week old, a daschound with a mile long tung, and three marine aquariums 1 plant only soon to recieve my midas goby, 1 clown tank (but no Nemo's), and one reef. I also have a 135 gal home built that is waiting till i move to bigger accomedations to set up.

I got my first RC when i was six.. my first fully functional rc was whin i was eight.. it was a remote controll porsche 911 with removeable targa and a 10ft cord (nebody else remeber those?). I have done model rockets, cars, planes, and trains. Rc's of all the same minus the trains and rockets, and plus a helicopter. I like boats the best.. and have owned an electric swamp buggy (first boat), and three america cup style sail boats. I have not used any in the past three years.

last summer i bought a Cen Aquajet .16 to get my mind off my divorce, and since my mom's BF just got a cottage up north it seemed the only natural thing to do. I can't wait till the next get togeather in kzoo, toledo or wherever... and hopefully i'll have a boat for Christy to drive this time ;)

neways it said as much or as little as we wanted... i think thats about all there is to know to me.

Cyslide, well I guess the discount must be good for batteries! LOL Radio Shack has been good for my kids and their love for R/Cs.

The name is Izak Theron, from Johannesburg in South Africa. I'm new to this forum and RC boating in general. I'm 35 years young, married, with two aspiring model glider pilots (or skippers perhaps...) aged two and three.

I fly model gliders as a pastime and would like to get involved in RC boating now.

I like any music I can sing to but the likes of Def Leppard, Cat Stevens and UB40 are my favourites.

When I can make the time I also like flyfishing, camping and sightseeing in our beautiful country.

When I'm not playing I work as Inventory and IT manager for a company that sells undercarriage parts for earthmoving machines.

That about wraps it up.

See you guys around.

Cheers,

Izak

Izak....we're all glad to have you here.

that't a great avtar............I would have never thought that channel marker was strong enough to go halfway through that boat....The fiberglass on the hull of that boat is at least 1.25 inches thick in some places.

He must not have remembered how to keep the green on the right while going or if comming in, to keep it on the left.....so he hit it dead on
