DING DING DING!!! Yes, that is one of my brackets for a 1/8 Scale, Gas Scale , Thunderboat or a Gas Sport hydro. These are NOT made from aluminum angle, they are made from bar stock 6061 aluminum. If your boat hits something with one of these brackets on it you will break something before you bend this bracket! I have two of these brackets left if anyone needs one for $25.00 each plus postage. I also have five of the Bud T-5 brackets ( the part of the bracket that mounts to the sponson is angled to match the rear of the sponson angle ) for $30.00 each plus postage.
I still make a few turn fins. Because of my back and a pair of bad knees I am not able to spend much time in the shop as I would like to. My right hand does not grip a file as good as it use to and arthritis in my thumb on my left hand doesn't let me grip a fin for long so I can file it. It sucks to get old but there it is. I do the best that I can do.

Dick,
Does this bar stock come in the L shape or is it machined to this shape.
Where would one be able to purchase the material?
Thanks, Rick

Hi Rick!
All of my fin brackets were made from bar stock aluminum. Bar stock meaning a solid bar of aluminum. These brackets were machined from 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" square bar aluminum. There is a lot of waste material in making them this way and is more expensive. Next best thing for material is to use structural aluminum angle, but make sure you get material with the radius in the angle.
If you have any other questions send me an email. I'll be happy to help where I can.

Dick
