Guys,

Just out of interest, i saw a TS2 with a OS on the back at a local hobby shop for $500.

Dont know if any one is looking for spares at all. I only had a quick look at it and it seams ok.

If someone is interested let me know and ill have a better look at it.

Seamed like a good price for one. It is second hand though.

In other news, the villain is sanded back and hopefully it will get primed for paint this weekend.

fingers crossed it gets on the water by the end of the month.

I wont be there either... building a sprintcar. Try brian for the fuel dood thats where i got mine

Not long now guys till another 3.5 tunnel hits the water in OZ!!!!!!!!

New paint, everything installed, just have to make a radio box lid then glass up a new cowl for myself.

Ive enjoyed putting this boat together. It was 4 years ago that i just completed my other Villain S1 but that was electric. So having a baby sister nitro version will be a hoot.

I'll add some photos shortly.

Might have to make a trip down to penrith for a race day at the end of the year. I enjoyed it last november. :p

This time my boat might make some noise... replaced that dremel motor on the back of it. LOL.

well what a day i had today started out with a flat tyre  changed it

Drove to penrith all good so far put me boat in the water couldn't keep

on the water as iv just fitted the os with a moded p/l and a irwin pipe

The dam thing took off like a dog shot in the arse and i though this is tops played around with set for a bit

to try and get to handel better but it just wasnt going to happen today i pulled the guts out of 3 glo plugs

and on the third plug it shat the main crank bearing

So now i need new bearings all four need a new c/rod,piston/liner and a new head

Is there a better choise for the main bearings other then stock

and what prop should i be useing i had a stock 40x53 and the motor reving its guts out it was fast but just to much

for that prop

cheers ian

Really sorry to hear that Ian,,, I'm taking a little personal survey on blowin' up O.S.XM's

(1) Were you running "full flow" water thru it?

(2) What method was used to lube cable ?

-end of survey-

Thanks for your help,

JW

hey mate

(1) it was running full flow water

(2) im useing a shaft oiler kit from OER and it works so good ***** all over the stock set up

hope this helps

cheers ian

Thank you Ian!,, I was rebuilding allota (other boaters) XM's that were running water and using the stock

cable lube system. I was finding all of the cable ends stuck in the pto shaft and various damage to sleeves

and some bearings.

Got most of them running without water and light weight greasing thru the top nipple on the lower.

I have had to rebuild one of the 7 and it's damage was due to no after-run oil,, rust got in there

and took the sleeve out,, plus didn't help anything else.

I'll keep taking the survey but it looks like the no water deal is payin' off perdy good and the re-builds

have slowed dramaticaly.

Ian,

I get my bearings from Here Very fast service.

Handling - your boat is probably too light with the pipe set-up. Add weight to the CG point. I've done this to several piped TS2's and it works well.

Props - it's a case of testing what suits the boat really, as you have to find the range in which the motor and pipe are happy.

Tim.

Guys,

Just a reminder that the next club race day at Penrith is on the 14th October. As an extra incentive for you to be there, the final round of the Australian F1 superboat championship (yes the real ones) will also be on at the Regatta Centre, on the same weekend. If you have never seen and heard these things, they are very impressive to watch!

Link

There is a very real chance we will get a lot of spectators come and watch us race on the Sunday. It would be great if we can get a lot of O/B tunnels to come and race on the 14th and put on a good show.

ill be there ill prolly be hung over but ill be there. I gota go shopping tomorrow to get some parts and get ready to run.

Should i run the CMB again boys?? try and get it not to die when it comes off pipe??

ill be there just put the OS back together and iv put 5 tanks through it

has anybody got any header hose that i can buy

Tim ill need to rack your brain with some help with this boat :p

cheers ian

OK Guys - Roll Call for Penrith this weekend!

I'll be there and I can see that Ian, Bryan & Tim will be there - who else??

Regards,

James
