Greg,

We had a sneak preview of the trophy at penrith last Sunday and I must say it's a very impressive piece of work, well done!

I'm making arrangements now for the mantlepiece in my living room to be reinforced because there should be two of them sitting there come the 12th January 2008

Very nice looking trophy. What is is, cast stainless?

Just want to get some advice also.

Broke the skeg of my K&B other day. Pretty sure i wont be able to TIG it back on without destroying it.

So just wondering if i can modify to run...

K&B on a lawless with a K&B round pip (dont know the proper name), or perhaps modify a OS pipe to fit on it. I know the K&B has been worked before by Oval Express and had some serious mods done to it and also the mufler part. But im not savvie with it, but it goes hard

Has anyone tried something like this. Do u think it will work?

Dave

David,

The Lawless and OS lowers are longer from pin to drivedog which could change the handling of the boat. The Villains are designed around the K&B lower. If you can't track down another K&B item - you could bend up a piece of stainless plate to 90 degrees and bolt it to the cav plate - seen that done before.

The trophy looks awesome Greg. You have excelled once again! For those of you that have never looked into buying trophies - there is no such thing as a generic boat specific trophy you can buy off the shelf in Oz. You can get the little enamel inserts that have boats on them but that is nothing special. This trophy is 100% unique and has been made by r/c boaters, for r/c boaters.

Tim,

My electric villain kicks butt with the lawless on it.

Im only going to test and play about as i can get the pipes from a mate. Just wondering if the pipes will work on the stock K&B motor.

Dave

David, the OS muffler mated to a K&B works VERY well. The lawless and OS lowers also work pretty darn well on the villains I have had in the past. I currently run OS on my sport villain and it shows no ill handling effects because of the additional offset as Tim mentioned. I was worried that it would also, but it runs great.

If I were you, I would definately try a OS muffler on a K&B. You might be suprised. :)

roll call for penrith this sunday ill be there who else
cheers ian
I'll be there with the Hi Jack on the HTB/MAC to do some precise tuning on the trim and prop height. Going by the results I got with the Hi Jack on the 7.5cc this should be fun ;) ;) ;) I'm looking forward to trying it with the 1440 b/c on it as well.

Tim is also going to be there a bit later with his 'A' OB Tunnel. Should a very interesting day

sorry guys but i cant make it. Im moving this weekend and ive got tonsilitis! not happy jan!

Hey Tim we got a new axel put in the diff for about 800 bucks it looks like at the moment. We will be back out there this weekend if it dosent rain!

Good luck kesso hope you get that thing screaming and i hope tim sorts out this ob of his..... hang on actually no i dont! (sorry tim)

Bryan,

Too bad you can't be there.

I hope you've managed to repair the header on the CMB and it's a going concern for the last Race Day for the year on the 9th December. It would good to replicate the racing we had 2 weeks ago B) B)

Good news about the axle Bryan! Did you get the birdcage etc too? Give me a yell if you want someone to lend a hand again. Tonsilitis sucks. So does moving house. Having to do both those things at the same time would really suck big time!

I have a few things to do on Sunday but if all goes to plan I could be at the pond around lunch time.

James i havent had a chance to do it yet ive been packing all week but will have it done and yes id love to get 5 boats running for the lead again.

I think there was like 5 lead changes in 2 laps and I think it was me who won! LOL!! ;)

Tim i havent been up to work on the car yet but from what i remember from saturday night the birdcage looked allright it just needed bearings obviously after those ones exploded! :D

Bryan,

Now that the "official" results have been posted on the Club Website I thought it might be worth mentioning my 1,000 points from 3 heats on the day versus your 425....... ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Let the "smack talk" begin ................. see you at the Pond on the 9th Dec and we'll sort this out Boat to Boat

WORLD OVAL RACING CHALLENGE - Penrith, January 2008!!!!

I've got a post running on the Aussie Forum as well, but I'm just trying to get some talk going amongst the Outboard Tunnel junkies, on what promises to be an exciting racing event.

Who is going to be there to see who is the best Outboard Tunnel Racer in Australia :D :D . The challenge extends to all you guys in the Northern Hemisphere as well, especially those ones who will be suffering "cabin fever" while your ponds are frozen.

I know there are going to be some very experienced, as well as the new up and coming racers competing in both 3.5cc and 7.5cc classes, so this is the event you need to be at to earn some valuable bragging rights ;) ;)

Who's coming?????

Regards,

James
