Great day out at the pond today... finally managed to get some time on the GO Outboard or GOOB for short, thanks to Tim for pointing me in the right direction, head clearance totally forgot to check it when I put the engine together  Anyway changed the shims out and the thing came alive, looks like it has some potential, hopefully get it dialled in next practice day and then it's ready for the Country Champs in June.

Also thanks again to Mark Leyde for the conversion kits, they are awesome.

Murph,

You beat me to the keyboard!

I couldn't agree more with your comments about a "great day at the pond today", we were treated to perfect weather, perfect water and three fun rounds of Club racing.

Congratulations on the way you got the HTB290/GOOB going, it was pretty to watch those last few runs today, verrrryy impressive B) B)

Kris & Louise, look out when we get to Finley in June......... B) B)

See ya,

James

devo i missed out now that iv got the bug back ill be down on the 30th but

good to hear you have got the go ob going Murph look forward to seeing run ill also see you guys down finley not racing but i will be down there

cheers

Vision/OS going VERY good now, just have to throw out all those dodgy bloody OD-9 plugs that keep turning to ****.

Boat would run AWSOME for 2-3 laps, then fall off 'pipe' and seem like it was running rich, bring it back in, change nothing, start her up and BANG awsome again for 2 laps and slow down....turns out the 'gold' part on the plug is now black and covered in sluge  That is probably the 5th one to do that to me....

Would have to agree Kris, given all the raving on about them I brought a few the first batch (about 12) were terrible, same problem boat coming off pipe, loose centre post's (at least three), one centre post goooonnne completely, and destroyed filaments. The second batch seem better but only the Nova Outboard likes them, the GO just kills them I will agree when they work, they work very well but now I'm very suss of them if the engine goes off for any reason I toss them. Given that with the K&B's I would almost forget how long I've had them in for, this is not good I was expecting better. Now don't get me started on the "blues" what a one hit wonder that plug is, they are even worse, maybe we have "harder" air or something down here in Australia I'm not sure.

I would like to persist with them as on paper they look like good plugs, but given the cost to get them here and the failure rate I think it's back to good old K&B's for me....

its been quiet on here of late..... have to make sure that changes.

It will be a good race but if i was there it would be a great one!

seriously but guys have a good one and everyone stay safe on the travel.

The 'A' Outboard Class at the NSW Country Champs at Finley this weekend could turn out to be a battle of the Mark Leyde NR Conversion Kits :) :) I'll be running mine in the NR T21-7M, Murph will be running the GOOB, Gino who knows, could be NR could be GOOB?? Kris and Aaron will you be running your NR 35Plus engines??

I hope we get some decent water so we can give these babies a good run................

See ya there,

James

Naaa I don't want to show you guys up too much with my OZSPEC NOVA LOL

Might just run a trusty OS, or prop way down on the Nova, it's no fun leading by a lap or more...

Kris

Sounds like "smack talk" has begun........

Kris the only reason you won't be running your Ozspec Nova is because it's only a SAW boat and probably can't turn corners

Thats funny coming from Mr. Understeer

Have fun at Finley guys - wish I could be there racing with you all (and freezing my nads off whilst nursing a massive hangover) like in previous years, but it looks like it's just not meant to be this year.

Thats OK Tim, we understand you don't want any tickets to the Policemans Ball this year LOL

HAHA good one Kesso, need to borrow my prop again? 'buddy' ;) Got the 3rd channel to go the right way these days?

Kris

Looking forward to running this weekend, OB McQueen with the GOOB outback for me, prop down as Chris has noted. Just wanted to make it fair for everyone so the Lynx will stay safely in the trailer... Of course there is the Shaman, ahhh choices, choices who knows what I will turn up with....

My sources at Channel 99 news they me are shooting another story for this weekend, stay tuned.
