A great weekend was had as usual at Finley, we did-not have good water on Saturday for the .21 boats, but really don't think you could have asked for better conditions on Sunday. I think the "Premier" class of Model Boating put on a good show..

The Lynx was not up to scratch for the weekend, broke a drive shaft (surely someone has a solution for this ??) plus with some wear in the bushings on the engine mount did not help so I was chasing the handling all weekend. How I missed that before Sunday I do-not know.

Good to see my team mate Gino share the win with James LOL, Kris Vision was going well, very nice boat with Nova power.

Anyway looking forward to the Winter Spec.

Yes, was a great weekend, I think my prop shaft is still thawing out

.

Hopefully, and I say hopefully, my issues are finally sorted and we can get down to business....time will tell I guess.

For my team mate Murph, could of been better on the water, but he made up for it with his carpark and Saturday Night party antics. Good to see he still had a good time.

As for sharing first place in A outboard, I was still very happy with placing second on heat time to James in A outboard.....been a looong time for me!

Gino

Well Done Gino! I'm very glad to see you are back in the winners circle at long last! I knew you'd get there eventually. Well done to James too.

How was the P-Spec EA tunnel racing?

Murph, I'm surprised you didn't run the GOOB? Not quite there yet?

Tim,

No just needs some more time on it, still tight as and the hull is a little flighty, with no controlled practice (OZ race organisers please take note!!) there was just no time to sort it.

Another practice day with it and I'm sure it will be a good thing, plus I mainly want it for a club and rough water boat anyway. Except for Saturday it was great Lynx water and I will always run that boat first if I can, winning races is not a huge priority for me, it's always about "wowing" the crowd

Unfortunately I can't make it this Sunday was hoping to do some more testing, forgot I gave the better half the weekend off so it's Daddy Day-care for me, not that I will ever complain about that... So will see you guys on the 4th July.

Greg,

I didn't know you were coming to the Winter Spec  , it will be good to see you here. It looks like we've got at least 11 'A' Outboards entered and we're all looking forward to some close racing on great water :D

See you soon,

James

hey guys this is my first post on here and i want to get started in racing the tunnels again but having problems finding a good boat and engine setup. just wondering if anyone had any boats for sale or any engines. iv got a hull and an older 3.5 k&b but was looking at putting a cmb21rs on the k&b lower but just abit worried how it will last with the power of the cmb?? i wouldnt mind gettin a lawless but cant find one.

Hold on just a minute you other guys.

No one has asked Justin what sort of hull he has. It might not be suitable for more horsepower, let alone telling him he has to spend money on a new leg. He might be on a budget. He might have a hull that suits a K&B leg, or could use a new hull that would work well with a K&B (VS1 for example). Lets find out what he has and what he wants to do before trying to sell him your stuff that he may not need to get started again. Lets try not to frighten him off before he's even started like the weed whacker guys do.

Justin,

Welcome to IW. There are a few of us tunnel crazy Aussie O/B racers on here who'd like to help you out to get up and running. There are some great guys at RMBC - I had the pleasure of racing there earlier this year for the first time and had a blast.

You said you have a K&B - was it still running the last time it used or has it died? K&B's can still be competitive & if it ain't broke - use it for a while until you get the feel for racing & the "go faster" bug. FWIW Dave M at RMBC has a smoking fast K&B that trophied at the Masters this year.

What sort of hull do you have and is it in raceworthy condition? Is getting it up and running feasible or did you want to start fresh.

hey guys thanks for the replies and help. Spoke to arron today and he gave me some very usefull tips.

Tim my hull is nothing raceworthy its an older dumas 3.5 style so thats why id like to upgrade hull aswell il keep mine for fun (still handles awsom and flies with the k& B) the k&b still runs but definatly needs a rebuild as the outside of the piston has little ripples and the bearings are going as for the flex shaft. So il run her till shes dead.

Arron was telling me about the lynx and vision so ill have to sit and have a think and same for the motor department CMB or OS. Anymore help will be greatly appreciated guys

thanks justin
