Looking for a club to host the 2013 Internats/Nats.

The city of Hobart does so much for us in hosting the IndyMasters as it is and that race has quickly become THE premier nitro event drawing from both NAMBA and IMPBA. Ever heard of wearing out your welcome? Nope, not gonna go there so please let it go guys...........

Now let's get back to discussing the viability of the late October dates. Checking the 2013 calendar I think the 22nd - 26th would be best. Remember the event needs to end on a Saturday with the banquet that night.

TRUST me,,, what ever date, format, weather condition you come up with SOMEONE will have something negative to say about it... We see it every year when the IMPBA internat's or the IMPBA Nitro nats roll around!!!!

Funny how you don't see this back and forth crap when the NAMBA nat's are announced. (FIRE AWAY) I have my force fields up!!!

As much as I'd like to make a repeat performance from the 2010 NAMBA nat's no matter what date is finalized I prolly won't be able to make the race. Really enjoyed my week there in 2010, and would like to see the improvements your team have made to the site in person.

Just my opinion but March is pretty early for us Northern racers, I doubt if many of us will have had a chance to do any local testing of our new builds and setups, due to "water conditions"..

10-4 on that Tony. We usually start testing in late April or May at best.

The VooDoo Model Boaters would love to host this race. I have put a call in to Chris Rupley to let him know that all the officers of the club have discussed it and we would be glad to put on this race. We have one of the nicest facilities in the country with plenty of parking and pit area and feel it would be a great oppurtunity for everyone. We have a lot of experience with big races and we would consider it an honer to host the Nitro Nats.

Hope we can make it work.

I have been watching this thread waiting to see what people will say... Pro's - Con's to the timing are the only issues. At this point make your proposal and submit it to your district director and the board for approval. You will never make everyone happy. The main thing we need as an organization is the event to happen and it would be awesome to see you make it happen.

p.s. Time is crucial in the planning for this event and if you choose a March race date then you got alot of work already in a very short time.

We are waiting on final approval, but if all goes well it looks as though the race will be on October 24-27th. Once everything is worked out and approved we will list the flier and schedule.

I have received some email regarding this race. We have submitted our proposal and were told that we would be hosting the race, but we are just waiting on the final word. As soon as we know for sure we will post.

Folks just to give a quick update-

We are moving forward with helping Carlo and the VooDoo club submit their Nats proposal as this was the most viable option placed on the table. I contacted John Equi and had him send Carlo the Internats/Nats info packet and I sent him a list of suggested classes so they can get their proposal finalized and to the IMPBA board. While I have not personally been to the VooDoo pond I know many who have and everyone I asked has told me this is a top notch facility, the pics posted only further reinforce that in my opinion. I will keep everyone posted as we progress further.
