So it will be a nitro nats not a innernats?where is the voodo pond locAted?
Pete,From what I was told the IMPBA is going to set up the internats on certain years now. The VooDoo Pond is in Reserve, LA about thirty minutes out of New Orleans. If we are fortunate enough to hold this race then it will be the Nitro Nats.

Go to Rc Racing Events.com 4th annual VOO DOO ...should be all the info you will need.
Stan,Thanks for the help.

Don;

want me to check with Chilli on this?
The only way this would be feasible would be if the Capitol club could get the old Springfield site back. We held National level events there in the past and it's size, location, proximity to hotels, food etc. would be prime. The current location is too small and the rules governing inclement weather and the property make it too risky based on what mother nature has done to us in recent past concerning races.
Don,Great to talk with you looking forward to discussing dates and other concerns next week.

Thanks

Carlo

I AM NOT SPEAKING FOR THE HUNTSVILLE CLUB, BUT in terms of a site and location of the site being in the middle of the country EAST of the Missisippi it is ideal. Many INTERNATS were held at the site in the past. The problem is that we do not have the manpower to do the event. One year the BOARD of IMPA actually put the race on. The facility as those who have been to Huntsville know of its quality. The distance is about the same for everyone who travels. The cost of motels is extremely reasonable. There is the Space and Rocket Center to see for family members and the city swimming pool is on site. Maybe a club or the board would would consider doing the race at the site. The club has the basic items needed, retrieve boats and clock etc. The ski ramp is gone also.

Just some musing this AM before seeing the masses and their problems. Doc

This is a chance for the guys that complained this year of the timing to speak up and volunteer to host the Nats or Internats at thier site and the time frame that thier families could attend.

Don't just sit back and wait till a club is awarded the event and time and then complain step up and volunteer your site and club.

Nitro Nats at the VooDoo pond would ROCK!
Buchshot,Thanks man, I know it would be a great time.

Carlo what timing would you be looking at if it was in Reserve?
Tony,We are looking for suggestions that would accommodate the most racers.

Would be tough in the middle of the summer in S. Loooosiana...

Thanks for stepping up guys! :)
Terry,Thanks man. June, July and August around here gets pretty hot, but we will do whatever you guys would like.

Bill,We have stepped up.

Guys,

I have contacted Chris Rupley and Don Ferrette and gave our commitment to holding this race. We are very flexible with the dates and planning of this race. We are open for positive suggestions that will help make this race a very good one. I would like to discuss this with all of you and come up with the best date that would suit the majority of racers. You guys let me know what you want and expect out of this race and we will do our best to make it happen for you. We will handle getting shirts made, making sure there is food on site as well as taking care of everything that goes along with a big race.

We have over 35 Members in our club, more parking and pit area then we could ever use, a large digital clock on the water a very nice PA system with speakers mounted on the telephone poles along the shoreline so that racers can always hear what is going on. We have plenty of hotels and restaurants just minutes away from the facility. We just added a new metal roof on our large raised driver stand along with lights and a all concrete hot pits. We have ample amounts of pit area along the shore line and we have also built a bridge that can be driven across to the huge amount of pit area directly beyond our driver stand. We even ran a power pole to the rear pit are so that guys can plug there extension cord into it and have power without running a generator. We have without argument one of nicest RC Boat Racing facilities in the country. We have pictures posted if you go back up to post 17.

We have hosted some very big races including the IMPBA Gas Nats twice, NAMBA Nationals and the VooDoo World Championships each year. We know what it takes to get the job done and done right. This club is full hard working dedicated guys that go out of there way to make sure everyone who attends our races have a good time.

Lets work together on a date that will benefit the majority of the racers.

Thanks

Carlo

its a great site and the Voodoo guys do know how to run a race and party ! I wouldnt mind a spring or fall date.. Tony J

Depending on the dates, and if it is held at that voodoo lake I might be inticed to go.

Yes you have Carlo and the VOODOO site is a great site. Just trying to head off the complaints for the time of year like the Charleston club was getting. Boaters seem to always manage to find something to complain about a host club and they really need to stop and think first before they do. I'll be retired end of this year and really look forward to making one of your races next year again I had a great time the last time I was down there.
