Hey Terry...if you come down will drive your boats for ya,if the offer still stands:)
Awsome, I'm still looking for a good driver, that one I fired in Charleston hasn't dared to come back.

Dunno if Norlins could stand the 2 of us back in town after the damage we did the last time! (25 years ago) B)

That why they call them volunteers, no pay and long hours of abuse. There is always someone out there that will complain about something but if asked to help they will say they are too busy and run away. This is why it's hard to find volunteers to help. People need to remember that to aire is human nature, but can be discussed without raising the blood pressure. A bad call or missed infraction is just that. I know that we all think we are perfect, but we need to remember and THANK those that VOLUNTEER!!!!!!!!!

Guys,

I would like to get some input on what you guys would like the date to be for this race. Whatever you guys can come up with our club will do our best to make it work. The summer months here are just brutal and i would advise to try to stay away from them, but again we will make work whatever is necessary. Our VooDoo Championship race was last weekend and the new additions and upgrades to the facility worked out great and the race could not have went any smoother. We will be scheduling the dates for all of our races for next season very soon and would like to get this one on the books.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Here is a video that Keven our vice president made after the VooDoo Championship race:

Carlo how about an early October date to start discussions. The gas nats are in June, our racing in D-2 is done at the end of september, and I bet its still reall nice in the big easy at that time... tj.

That's the Fall Nats time slot, what about early to mid May? From what I here it's still tolerable as far temps and humidity down there.

Tony,We would have no problem with October as the weather is really nice that time of the year, but I would not want to step on the toes of any of the known established races. Maybe towards the end of October??

Don,Mid May would be fine, but the beginning of May would not work as the Jazz and Heritage Festival is going on and Hotel rooms would be impossible to get.

So we have two possibles so far:

Late October (Would be my personal choice just for great weather)

Mid to the end of May

Lets continue to discuss.

This is Awesome to hear that VooDoo club is stepping up to the plate. I am all for this race. I will mention the rule book states the internats/nats is suppose to be held in July or August. Now I myself don't know what the official reason for that time frame is I do have thoughts. Example the internats should be a family event, May and October are during the School year. May is a very busy month for graduations and weddings.... October would be better in that scenario. I will mention this also, Hobart and Charleston are both in September.... Hobart is in the beginning but Charleston is near the end of the month.... Might be an issue with the big nitro races all stacked up at one time. Just wanted to give ya something to think about. I will support the race in every way I can.

Thanks to the VooDoo club for putting in for the Nitro Nats. They are no stranger to putting on a big race and they do an awesome job.I think late May would be best with all the big races being held towards the fall. Maybe the week before the May 27th Memorial Day holiday?

I think there might be a big hydro race in the works for late May.

The Fall Nats is always in early October each year. The Columbus Holiday weekend to be specific. In 2013 the race is Oct 11-13. Hobart should be September 6-8, 2013. The World OB Tunnel Championships hosted by the Charleston club is May 3-5, 2013. Then we have the IMPBA Gas Nationals June 6-9, 2013, also hosted by the CMB club.

I was in Baton Rouge this past June and it was HOT, brother! Somewhere around the mid 90's ( AND HUMID ) if I remember correctly. But then it was that hot in Virginia that same time, also. Us " old guys " can't take the hot weather like we did 15 - 20 years ago. The late May date would probably work, but then when you set a date for that time you'll get a few people complaining like they did for the Internats last year. You will NEVER please EVERYBODY............no matter what date is picked for the race. I say we just can't be so pickey with race dates any more. We're lucky that to have anyone step up to the plate like Carlo has with an offer to run and support this race. Time for a conference call, IMPBA.................

Paul I submitted the proposal to allow the Internats date deviation with board approval and it is now in place for one year trial remember? Hobart is the weekend after Labor Day, Charleston is the second weekend in October on Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 12-14 for 2013). Graduations in mid May?? Before Memorial Day?? Where does that happen??? Weddings? Really??? Geez man weddings happen year round. As for the Internats as a family event ..... well that horse has been beaten to death sooo much already not even going there. As Mr. Tyndall said you will NEVER please EVERYBODY, it is what it is so with that being said the mid May slot may be the better of the two in my opinion. I also appreciate Carlo and his crew stepping up, at least we have something on the table to work with. :)

I'm sure Don will give us more details since this is his baby being the Nitro Director. If it takes getting the May date, I'm sure the IMPBA board will approve. I'm with Dick on getting the race on the calender since we have a club that wants to host it.

Thanks Juice. I've talked to Carlo and we thought we'd let people kick it around over the long holiday weekend. At least we've got something out there to talk about at this point. :)

We attended the SGRA Invitational for 15-20 yrs and it was held the last weekend in Oct or first weekend in Nov. The weather was seemingly great every year. One of the great things was being able to race without the heat. We had only one year when it was cold and had to buy some gloves.

The hydros Nationals was held one year in Slidell in July and it was brutal. BTW does anyone know where the "MAN" trophy mold might be. It was one of the most unique trophies. Those that won one I am sure have kept them because of being so unique. Fortunately I have three. Boy if that trophy could be brought back it would be really cool. Doc
