Yeah I remember the purple board James. I think this thread wasn't that old though!

Great practice day at the winter spectacular today and lots of tunnels to be seen. nitro, gas and electric. Racing starts in the morning - should be fun.

ROCK ON KRIS

1st, 1st and 1st in all 3 OBT classes at the winter spec

CLEANING UP.

Congrats mate. Wish i could have been there to see some of the racing.

Heard it was a top event once again.

Dave

Yes, congratulations and deserved wins in all classes. Good clean drives with the horsepower to match. Well done!

Yes very well done Kris, had a pretty bad weekend with my nitro but i sure as hell was trying with the electric! ;)

Great racing great weather great company! great weekend!

Yeah - great job Kris! It was good to race with you and Louise again. You do realise you'll have to come back next year to defend the title, don't you? B)

Notable mention - Murph's last heat was just sensational - 1min 31 heat time with dead wood in the water. That thing cleared out!

Congratulations Kris, fantastic results with your Outboards, especially the 7.5cc with it's first race meeting.

I told you we had the best Tunnel Racing Pond in Oz :) and we were lucky enough on the weekend to have perfect conditions for good racing. As Tim said you gotta come back next year to defend the title :D

Regards,

James

Well done Kris, great effort mate! And well done to all the other tunnel racers for making it by all accounts a great event! Would have loved to have been there, hopefully next year B)

Cheers,

Dave

Well i thought that i might post this here since i belive that this might be the only 21 twin (45) OBT in Aus at the moment.

Owner is Nigel - On the forum a bit here and there.

Boat well i will leave it up to Nigel to explain more about it.

Runs really nice. Got a great note with the twins on the back...

On another issue, Nigel and i had a bit of a duel with our 21 OBT's

Both Mac powered, with silver bullet pipes.

mine is 33inch long special that Kris and i were working on a bit. Now very happy with it and Nigels is a vision.

His turns a heap better than mine, but thats almost sorted. I can turn at full song, just watch it if im following to close i can just come unstuck a bit. Great running boats the vision, and it was TOPS to finally have a great run with some other OBT and know that they are close on speed. Last time i had mine on the radar it was 78kmph, and its a tad faster than that now. ROCK ON.

Thanks for the help at the lake also nigel !!!

David

Thanks for posting this and some info.

A few years ago I watched the twin outboard from Mike Talley, i hope I am correct at the tunnelchamps.

Great sound and a stable combination. Not the fastest, but very reliable..and an awesome sound.

I cannot speak for the speed that this thing is going, its quicker than my mac21 - would say in the 80lkph range. Im pretty sure that the motors are still fairly tight and also the fact that its still being dialed in. Little adjustments each time. But i can tell you that i saw this thing go 4-5 months ago and it was ok, but now its going better and im impressed. Not bad for some stock OS engines with pipes on them.

Got to love the sound of 2 motors.

Well, cannot wait to see what the boys bring out in a few months time....

Dave

Thanks for the kind words David and it was a lot of fun today. The twin is really coming on well and I think the set up is just about right, just need to learn to drive it. Very happy with the OS/silver bullet combo and they are spinning a pair of stock 40x53 2 blade props. I was going to build the twin on a Sharman but are very happy with the Vision 40, I think it is as quick as my mod 20 boat but just sounds better.

I am sure after watching close running today others will get the O/B bug, they are cool.

Nigel I was wondering if you could make some pics of the details of your twin. I was building a WOF tunnel twin but then came across a problem....the combo was too big for the place where the motormount goes......

Justin,

We haven't forgotten about it but some of the action has been taking place on specific threads such as Kris Flynn's Vision thread and the "Interesting" thread with video of Aaron's Lynx and a race from the recent Winter Spectacular held in Sydney as well as the TS3 Build thread started by Murph. Not forgetting the video of the QLD boys (Townsville, I think) with the Vision with twin OS engines.

There is a lot happening in OZ at the moment with Tunnels, lots of Nova Rossi outboards are hitting the water using the conversion kits from Mark Leyde, the Stock Outboard Class is up and running in the Sydney Club, David Moyle is working hard to get his latest Breakthrough Tunnel design up and running for its maiden voyage at the VIC State Titles.

There are a few more tunnels being built in Brisbane and from the look of the Competitor list for the VIC Titles the 7.5cc Outboard Class is growing.

Tell us what you've got happening and then we can all chime in with our "useful & constructive" comments

Regards,

James
