This thread got real quiet. Looks like the field is pretty well set. Only 84 days to get ready. New Mod-VP hits the water this weekend. That is if we don't have to chip through the ice. Got into the 30's last night. Is the Zamboni ready at the Brandon pond?

you're funny, the only ice you'll be chipping is for a cold drink    . i can bring some down with me in march, we'll still have plenty :( . i will admit, that is the 1 thing i miss about fl., the year-round watersports.

Guys,

A VERY STRONG suggestion for all of the racers planning on coming to the race. Charleston is a very heavy tourist area and one of the top 3 tourist destinations in the US. Get your reservations made before the end of January, if not sooner, to ensure you a place to sleep. The longer you wait, the more tourist impact will be felt. You may be scrambling to find a place if you wait until race time.

The motels we have listed on page 2 of the entry flyer are all within 1 mile of each other and are the closest to the lake. They are about 12-15 minutes away from the lake. Suggest that you get a room from one of those listed.

Less than 80 days till yall's @$$ whoopin' :p If any of yall would git close nough' to my cage I would bitecha'!

Careful your post doesn't write a bigger check than your @$$ can cash. ;) To be old and wise you must first be young and stupid. :D

Think there's something fishy in the Sport D entries.. When did CMB and Rossi come out with complete motors? <_< me thinks the web man has had a few too many German brews

Hey Mark, the "sport D" class rules only state "no tuned pipes" for this year as in previous years. We are NOT following normal sport class rule as in the sport 20 boats. That may change in the future, but as it is now, a CMB or Rossi with a muffler on it (such as a K&B style can muffler) is legal, and the lower unit can be pretty much anything. Sort of an outlaw class with a restrictor plate.

"No tapers??" Besides the shirmp, and corn, what else would you put in the Low Country Boil? Oh silly me, it's "taters" that go into the pot, not "tapers."

John Knight assured me there would be sufficient restroom facilities this year. Might take all the porta potties in the Charleston area to handle the load.
