I'm working on the directions at the moment. The format is looking really good. I Basically had them finished, but I wasn't satisfied, so I started over. All Wade will have to do is replace my figures with his, and it will be ready to go.

Thanks to Hammermom, and her expertise at MSword, It looks really sharp. Even she can understand it, so how's that for simple ;) . Just like a Snap- Tite model.

Hehe!

LOL!! Hammermom!! it is a good thing she is around! I can't wait to see the revised directions!

Believe it or not, Hammermom is an avid fan of Intlwaters. She reads it everyday. Not only to see what I'm up to, but she thinks that we're all a bunch of good guys

Hammermom, come on in and sign up! You might be the first female member on the site. Don't be shy, say Hi once in a while. I saw your e-mail this morning on Marty's Hotmail site.

Now we have to behave ourselves.

She said that for now she will remain in a lurker status.

She is just making sure that I'm behavin' myself.

Ourselves, now :p

Hammer how deep is the turn fin? What's the distance between the sponson inner edge and the outside of the tub?

Hey Eric! On the right side, it is 135mm and on the left side it is 145.

These measurements are from the tub to the inner walls of the sponsons. The turnfin is 27mm below the running pad of the sponson.

hammer,

are those all your boats in the background? there arnt any other people in the picture so i though maybe you just wanted the rest of us to die of jealousy looking at your boats...lol. how do you get down to the water from there? the floodwall looks pretty steep....

Joe

Joe,

Remember they do things a little different in Japan.

My guess is all the other boaters run up to the street out of the way when Hammer runs that .12. Then he just tosses it in from where he is at.

Mike,

that's a good theory.....and adding to that i know how he gets it back out.........when the fuel starts to get low, he just turns and faces the barrier and punches The Button [not just any button, but The Button :) ] it hits the barrier so fast that it jumps right up it and lands about 20 yards behind the edge!! aha, we've deciphered your secret hammer!! lol, even the sight of the .12 makes us jealous......

Joe

sweet!!

hmmmm......now if only i could figure out what boat that is..... ;D ;D

Wade, you gotta be a genius at computer design to pull that one off. it really lets you see what the boat looks like too....i didnt pick up from the few pics my Pc loaded that cutoff on the outer edge of the sponsons...that should help with lift too, kinda like an airplane's wings.

Hey, thanks guys I am glad you like the drawing so well. ;D I designed the boat using a 3D solid modeling technique so I could test fit everything that hammer gave me. Then I could make adjustments where needed. All I did was take a snap shot of the wire frame display mode & turned it to black & white.

Ian,

I use Cadkey 98. It is considered a low end CAD system, but I don't think people in my industry give it enough credit. You can do some pretty cool things if you know how to use the software. It packs a lot of "bang for the buck” We also have Catia, but that cost about$15,000 for one copy. Cadkey cost about $5000 per copy. I will say that you can do some even cooler stuff in Catia, but the cost is huge. ???

did you're pc load the pic of hammer with The Boat standing next to a floodwall? if not, that's what you missed...... :)

Joe

The wall near me in the picture does look a little steep in the picture, but it isn't so deep that it is dangerous. I usually stand on top of the wall and have one of my buddies put my boats in the water. This time of year, the water sheds in the mountains are frozen, so the flow of water to this reservior is minimal. In the summer, the water comes almost all the way up to the edge of the flood wall. Right now it is about 4 feet lower than normal. There is also an island in the middle in the winter months, so we have to be careful. Beats being frozen over though ;D

The directions are almost finished. Just putting in the final touches. All the diagrams and figures will be 3D and scale, so you will be able to put this boat together with ease. I don't want to brag, but I don't think you will find a boat out there that has had as much effort involved in its production phase. We have covered every detail with extreme precision to make it light, easy to build, durable, cheap without sacrificing quality, and a mechanical work of art.

Hammer

hammer,

your defenitely right about it beating being frozen over....

hey, im not gonna argue with your claim to amount of work put into the boat, and i'd back it if i were part of the hammerhead .12 team [instead i hopefully will get to be one of the ornery consumers who buys the boat and then finds the time to complain about it 24/7!! ;) :) ]
