If the price is right I want one too!!!! Im sure it would push a few 1/8 scales to the limit!

My choice of engine would be the force 15 rear port or the 12 side exhaust. (lots of metal to machine off the 12 liner. :-X But if i had some more cash it would have to be a nova! Ive used the kyosho 15 se in a small rigger, had no trouble pushing a 215, but longer for the 220 and a texas cut 225 was too mutch. Good fun in a small pond. Except for things that stick out in the water.

If you wanna go nuts, go ahead and put a .21 in it. You will always now where to get another one. ;D

IF THERE IS A OBSTICALE THE BOATS WILL ALL WAYS FIND THERE WAY TO THEM!

Do some dremel work and the FORCE will fly!!!!

Hammer, with that 21 it would't stay on the water!!

Good sales " pitch, batterup" !!!

I finally got tired of sittin' around not building anything.

I have been reading a lot about .12 riggers. They are very interesting and seem to be more challenging than the big boats. I got a set of the ff.12 plans and learned that a lot of the materials I will need to build it were impossible to get in Japan. When I build the ff.12 I will make it by the plans, to the "T".

In the mean time I will build a Hammerhead 12 with materials that are available.

This is what I'm looking at .

24" long. 2.8" width of hull. Target weight of 1.7lb or less.

I will run a TR.12 turbo that has been tuned and rebuilt with a water jacket flywheel and drum carb and less pilot shaft. Should scream.

I will have all the running hardware except the outer tubes for the sponson booms and the turn fin bracket made of high grade light weight titanium. These parts include the stuffing tube, rudder assy. strut assy, turn fin. tank, engine mount. and all bolts.

Haven't decided on the servos yet. Small high torque X 1 and a normal torque X 1. I'm a Futaba dude, so if you have any recommendations. I would appreciate it.

I started with the framework for the radio box and I partially finished the sponsons today. I will learn how to post pics soon, and give you guys a look. All comments and

suggestions welcome

Craig,

I am not building a 12 rigger, at least not yet. New years resolution: "No new boats this year." ;D

Dave,

Haha, use the Force! Nova would be nice, so would the Rossi, but $$$$$ :-

Ian.

If you are a Futaba fan, Hammerhead uses the 3012 for the rudder and a 3101 on the throttle. Myself, I'm going to try the Hi-Tecs, about half the price of the Futabas.

All this talk about engines, hmmmmm! this is what I say. I'm not here to discourage anyone by limiting the boat to a mere few possibilities for engines. I say....Use what you want. I use a twelve and the boat was designed for it. But.... What the heck. One of the main purposes other than the response for making this rigger available is, getting you involved. If you want to run a .18, .15, .21, .12, Have at it. Use what you got. As for now keep the priority to getting yourself on the water. There is always time to get the engine of your dreams whenever your ready.

WADE! I figured out the anchor problem. I did this on a .45 about 5 years ago, and it work fine. Take aluminum pipe, find a fiberglass tube with the same outer diameter as the inner diameter of the aluminum pipe. Slide it into the pipe with epoxy and cut the pipe into 1" sections. Make the holes in the inner wall of the right sponson the same as the outer diameter of the aluminum pipe, roll the tubes in epoxy, push them into the holes, all the way. When the epoxy hardens use self tapping button head screws to hold the spar on.

I bet if you made some kind of jig with a band saw you could make about 150 of them in an hour, at a cost of about 5cents each.

I'm sorry that I didn't send you this as an email. I'm at work right now.

About the servo set up...

The bridges for the servos, or any kind of tray are not included in the kit. There are directions and a configuration for the RC box set up I use, but we determined that individual taste for different set ups are to various to limit the kit to one set up. You will have my set up to go by, but if you use standard size servos on their side blocked with wood and adhered with double sided tape, shoe goo, or whatever, you will have plenty of room to play with.

Hey Topfuel! What's the word? Is that a greeting, or an indication that you are waiting for a response. If it is the later, I wish that you would reiterate your questionl. I have been so busy these days, that I have lost track of a lot of things. Please forgive me for my misunderstanding.

We did talk briefly about putting the plans on the web but later thought that it would be shooting ourselves in the foot. Whatever the final price will be, it would be worth it in the long run to have us do all the hard work for you gathering the wood, cutting it then putting in the basic hardware that you will need. We are doing a lot of shopping trying to get the best prices and quality. If Wade does decide to do this later, we'll let you know.

Hammer,

Actually I stated it a bit wrong, the resoultion was "BUILD no new boats this year". I can still buy them! :p

Nitrocrazed racing: If you are good boy we'll let you build them next year...

Ian

I Know you will buy one ;D. Just dont forget to order me one too!! Dont try and stick the A100 in will you Ian!!

i saw way back on page 21 hammer said i used fullers stuff...... just want to clarify that..... i used speedmaster hardware on my ff.12

i spent a lot of time looking at 12 size hardware and really did not like what i saw. the fullers stuff bothers me cause the strut looks very weak and the rudder does not have a kick up feature if you hit anything.

octura stuff is ok but just not pretty to me.

CMD makes .12 hardware...... but get out your wallet! and it will likely have a blunt nose strut cause it uses a center sponson.

.12 hardware is kinda a sticking point.... maybe someone knows bill at speedmaster could convince him to make .12 size stuff

Tom, nice to see you back in here! I feel your pain Dude. I've been looking for weeks for decent hardware at a decent price. Most of the stuff out there is $85-100.00! Lotta coin for a little boat! I've got Gary on the case looking for me also and have been to the electric boat sites asking around. Ed Hughey doesn't have a site so I may have to give him a call.

Ron,

BBY racing might have some stuff worth looking at, they deal in the elec/small nitro range.... please try to keep it economical if you can! :)

Joe

You guys are working way to hard! You need a rest. Something on

the lighter side.

Attached is the "Ultimate Speed Secret" for .12 riggers.
