Every time you mentioned the 'toxic pond', I was thinking it was the pond that the West Michigan Wave Runners (?) had back in the early 90's.. The one in Wyoming that you had to drive past the water sanitation station... :p Man, talk about holding your breath :-X.. Some days it just didn't pay to run boats ;D ;D

Mark...

Sure!!! ;D let me go take a pic of it real quick. I have the engine mounted, & that is about as far as I have got. My spare money ran short. :'( oh well, I just got a side job finishing some drywall for an old friend. (I used to be a carpenter) so I will soon have all the money I need to finish her up!!

What are you look at for weight, Wade? It is more or less than predicted? I saw some of the other pics of it in progress, but none this far along. Looking fantastic. You are really good at building boats ;) . Post some close ups if you can.

I just got home from the Toxic Pond running the 'rigger. The pipe lengthening really helped out, this little critter was flat out haulin'! I didn't get a chance to try out the CEN pipe, we had a radio glitch that put us into the bank across the pond. No damage fortunately. I has the X437 on for the first run then put the 937 on. It had a Heckuva roostertail behind it, it looked like a .21!

Any updates?

I got the bug now after fallowing this venture, This will be my first attempt at building an RC boat, I have been into cars & helis, so I already have a motor to try , Pro .15 TRX, I want to build this out of scracth so will need the plans, Please post or email me when they become available, I can hardly wait to get started

Thanks ;D

Ron,

I've now heard at least two cases with .12s that the headers fell off while running. Did the spring come off or break or what? ???

Don

My engine in the HH .12 is a side exhaust using a Traxxas header. The Traxxas screws come with a Lock-tite type of stuff on them. I had some other screws on the header when mine came loose. Now I'll Lock-tite all of them in the future. two small holes drilled in the header with a spring wrapped around would be a nice little safety feature though or there is plenty of thread left on the 30mm long screws to add some lock nuts on.

Sandspur...are ya handy with a dremel? I've got a tech article by a fellow board member that will liven up that Traxxas. If you're interested.

Thank's Ron,

I guess I should have looked back at the pictures again. I thought you were running a rear exhaust with spring. : :)

Don ;)

Noy yet, Don. I am looking at one for HH .12 #2. If I like it, the Trinity/Picco/NR might go back into the mono collecting dust downstairs. Fantom Motors has some fast little engines that I'd like to try. Serious HP and RPM's for a decent price.

The NR header on my Rossi engine has 2 holes on each side of the flange. Maybe a second spring could be installed. I don't know why this couldn't be done on a .12 engine if the need for another was needed for insurance.

Propjockey, Always interested in ways to livin things up, and would like to see the article, Also still needing info on building plans for my first water venture ;D

Thanks Sandspur

Sandspur, unfortunately, the HH12 is only going to be offered as a kit, or maybe pro-built if you don't like to or want to build a kit yourself. If you are looking to build from scratch, Tom Morehouse might still be offing plans for his Fire Fighter12 rigger. I'm not sure though considering his is now a production kit. If you are looking to build a kit,....... we can help you out with that. ;)

the old version is still in the free plans section. my newest design (much better than the old) is no longer available in plans..... but the kit is only $69.95 for that low of a price..... you would be hard pressed to buy all the parts/wood/foam/tubes for much less.... and the kit is laser cut!!! why would you even want the plans at that price?

There haven't been any updates in here in a while because I haven't had a chance to get out to the pond. Seven day work weeks do that to you. Anyway, I took some of that OT money and bought a Fantom .12 RE (front exhaust to us boaters) to throw into the HH .12. I got it out today and did some running but the wind and waves were kinda high so it wasn't in the water too long. I took 2 other boats along that had bugs in them to work out so I was a little busy. I found out why the Speedmaster 21 didn't run well at the Internats, the spring clip that holds the needle was loose allowing the motor to adjust itself!
