Don, can you hear me now! Good! ;D I just got home from G.R. and Wades home. What a fun day! I took 3 boats and Wade brought 2. My Son's Speedamster had a rudder servo go bad, the Grey Thunder that I am doing a review on had problems with a set screw on the drive coming loose and my power panel fried! We did get the HH .12 into the water and very well for it's first outing. I started with a V937 on it then swapped it out for a Prather 215. The 215 was better on it with no strut adjustments. I still have the 1938 to try yet.

Wade took some shots and videos as I was a little busy starting and watching the boat run. Eric had the pleasure of driving it, I never got the radio in my hands. He was pretty happy with the way it handled. We still have some tweaking to do and I have a throttle servo to remount but everything went well. How fast, I don't know but it did run respectably for it's first outing.

Wade will have more to add and pix also. His night wasn't too hot either, I'll let him tell you all about it.

"Great Ron"

You guys have done one hell of a job putting this together. I think it's going to be a winner! In fact with a Hammer design you can't go wrong. 8)

Well we will have to settle for this picture until I find the cable for my video camera. This is after it stalled on the very 1st launch.

My day kind of went like this....... had a hard time keeping my engine running long enough even to get it in the water. After I finally got it in the water, the shaft was slipping in the collet, so it barley made it back to shore. I tried to tighten it up, & the collet broke. > :( so no running that one. I brought my lil' swamp buggy for my oldest boy to drive, & my starter battery for it was dead, & the engine mount was broke > :( oh well, I had fun taping the HH12 running. I thought it ran extremely well, I was kind of in AWE because this little rocket from a bunch of hand drawn sketches on graph paper to a model in my computer, & to finally ripping around the pond like nobodies business!!!! that is why I love design so much at times. I really cant' wait to get mine finished, so I can rip up the pond as well.

Note the color of the water, it's a good thing that you couldn't smell it! It makes the Toxic Pond look and smell good!

Well all I need now it to add the color!!! ;D the sponson booms are just there temporally for the picture. I think i will make it neon Green & Neon Blue. my oldest want me to make it green, & the engine is blue so why not!!!

looking good. those sponsons have a real sleek look to them.

I took mine out today and with the strut adjustment got rid of the hop completely, so that's good.

You are making me jealous; I want my boat in the water soo bad!!!! :'( oh well. it will get there!

I took mine out for it's second run yesterday. I put the MIP pipe back on, adjusted the strut slightly and put an Octurs 1440 prop on it. Whatever I did really woke it up! I went back to the truck to grab the camcorder to tape Eric running it, by the time that I was ready to hit "Record" it died on the water. I grabbed the retrieve boat and found the header missing! Otherwise that Puppy was screaming! Fortunately the LHS had another in stock.

It was still a bad day. I took the Microburst with me for it's Maiden run of the year and it died after the first toss in the pond. I restarted it and the K-45 blew up again! Same problem as before, the seal on the rear bearing broke taking the con rod needle bearings with it. I may have to get a MAC 7.5 to drop in it. The third boat that I drug along, the Speedmaster 21 did pretty good, I had to replace a bad Ni-Cad reciever pack and had the nut holding the carb linkage arm on came loose. No biggy, got that fixed.

Hey Ron,

Can you tell me where I can buy the carbon rod and aluminum tube that fit together for the booms.

-MikeP

We're using 3/16" solid CF rod with 7/32" O.D. tubing. Brass is easier to find. An easy way to attach is is to slit the extra tubing that is sticking out on the inside (1/2-3/4"), slit it with a Dremel and cut-off wheel then use a 7/32" I.D. wheel collar from Du-Bro. It does hold! When I tried it, I pulled the tubing out of the sponson! Shop around for a place near you, we only found a 10 cent difference in price from several Dealers.

www.superiorbalsa.com in Ca. has it too along with the brass or aluminum tubing.

This was on the roll that I just had developed also. A shot of the radio box on the HH .12, lotza room. A pipe mount shot for Tom too.

The business end with the special ordered hardware from Octura through Gary Preusse.

While I'm at it, our own little Lake X, the imfamous Toxic Pond with the small channel to the Kalamazoo River.

Ron, doesn't the Grand feed into the Zoo river? ??? If so, that's why it toxic ;D ;D
