i have a BBY strut that is pretty nice for 12 riggers.... even has a ball bearing...... but the bearing did not last long :p

the bby rudder i have is pretty crude..... and the brackets are ugly/flimsy

I can get the strut, rudder, stuffing tube, flex cable with shaft, drive dog set, screw collar for .187 to 4mm, for about 110 dollars a set.

I can get the motor mount, and the coupler set for any engine made especially for the hammerhead for 40 dollars. So, your looking at 150 for hardware. The stuff is the same as my titanium stuff, but it is aluminum. I will use aluminum next time. It looks nicer when you polish it. Pretty expensive, hah! It is also mm size, which isn't good for you guys. I'm sure that Ron will be able to figure something out.

Don!!! That looks soooo romantic. I like the stance of the rear sponsons. Nice Job!!

Don, how much does the flaming rigger weigh? Minus the candles of course...

My PO BOY .12 Rigger was 1.75 with no paint, no prop, cable or fuel. I will do a sharpie marker paint job with a super thin coat of west-system epoxy. Still have a long way to go to hit 1.5 lb.

Eric.

"IT"S A ROCK!" Just under 3lbs. : :)

I'm hard at work on a new one right now. Got a couple sets of

sponsons made. One hammer cut and one conventional with dihedral.

See Attached:

hammer,

the engine mount and coupler made for the hammerhead is a good idea, i've been looking all around and i cant find a mount for my .18 besides maybe getting one made especially for it.

Ron,

Back to the running hardware!

The best prices I can find are Octura.

OC6STR-150DA Strudder Assembly- This includes complete strut, rudder,

bracket with stand off for mounting rudder on either left or right side, drive dog, 3/16 prop shaft for 150 cable, prop nut, bearings and nose

piece installed, 18" of .150 flex, and 18" of teflon tube.

(Rudder can also be forward of or back of the prop)

" Or if you want the strut and rudder seperate"

OC6SBCOML-150A Same as above except smaller strut bracket and no rudder.

OC4WRMA Seperate rudder and bracket (about 3 5/8" arm to bottom of rudder)

OC4WRA Seperate rudder and bracket ( about 3" arm to bottom "arm is set up for mounting on left side of transom only")

Additional items needed other than for engine is a brass tube and prop.

Not sure if you tried anything from Tidewater Tom, but I have a relatively small lightweight hardware set from Tidewater on one of my 20 riggers that I'm gonna give a go on a Hammer .12. They are beefier than the Fuller's stuff, cause I have a set of the Fuller's 6 cell hydro hardware too, and I see what you mean. The prices seem to be up there on Tidewater's site so there are probably better options, and the rudder doesn't have the kickback feature you like either. I'll give 'em a shot tho!! hahaha!!

Right now with the research I've been doing, Don, I think you are right. The Octura stuff is cheap, and they also have tons of options.

If you want to spend money, you can find some nicer stuff out there, but that is your choice.

Hammer

yea,

lightening my new hammerhead .12 by ripping off the transom hitting an underwater rock probably wouldnt be the highlight of the first day at the pond.....cant say blowing over or losing radio control would either so i guess i sound like the steroetypical grandma of model boating.....owch.

Joe

Lax,

Don't forget that "DAMNED TURTLE"coming to see what's going on up there !!!!!!! right in the middle of the straight-a-way!!!!!

Never have hit a turtle - I never worry about them anyway; I always design my boats with a break-away transom ;D

Big E

Even if the rudders aren't the kick back type, with a little effort, most can be modified.

Hammer

Hammer,

I noticed your's is not a kick up type but you mounted it on the side, I assume with only one machine screw, so it would kick up.

Great idea and a good weight saver! I think I'll make a bracket like that

for my next boat. :p

yep,

those durn turtles keep gittin' more and more curious, and their shells keep gittin' harder and harder! ;D

we dont have many of them in the ponds around here, but we've got PLENTY of logs, weeds, and copperheads. i bet those things are attracted to nitro fuel!

Joe

Hammerhead (Marty) set up an e-mail site for us this morning. It is accessable by the 3 of us for any questions that you have that you don't want posted here or for business once we are rolling. A web site will be in the works once we are producing also. For now, go to [email protected]

Well finally done with the preliminary laser patterns. Now Ron & I need to set up a time to make a first run. We are getting very close!! ;D

the suspense is growing........the kit is almost ready to be produced.....Hammer, Ron, and Wade will test it out....will it float?? lol! ;D :)

Hammerhead .12- the little boat with big expectations!

i wonder if it'll start a trend towards A hydro being a common class...hoping so.

almost there keep it up,

Joe

Hey Joe.. The suspense is killing me as well. We already know that it will float!!!! LOL Hammer already proved that!! I am with you, I really hope that the A hydro class becomes a common class. That is what I plan of being my first race boat! ;D
