    info on 2009 namba nats

Wait, I just want to make sure I've got this straight, you went to Australia and they gave you CORONA?? Dude, these are NOT friends!! But at least they didn't give you Foster's. Too bad, they actually have some good beer!! You guys do have gas stations up there in the PNW, right? SO I'll be...

    Gas Boat Forum

This is very true. There are two major FE boards, plus IW here and also RCU and RCG. I have seen people post the same question about FE boats on all 5 forums. Then they will the answers on one forum to argue with people on another forum. Kind of silly.

    Gas Boat Forum

I just click on "View New Posts" when I come to this, and most other, sites. That way I see all the new posts since my last visit and it makes it easy to track what I am interested in.

    Chris Chianelli RIP

Well, that makes two modelers that I know who passed this week. So sad. I have been a fan of Chris's for a long time. Godspeed to him and condolences to his family.

    2009 Grand Prix Classic

FWIW I got a rate of $63 per night for a King Non-smoking (AAA Rate) at the Holiday Inn Express just down Mowry across from the mall. It is 0.60 miles from the Best Western. I stayed here last year it is a pretty nice place. I am using points for one night so it is even cheaper!! :P

    R.I.P

I just learned this sad news. Ron and I were never friends, but I think we understood each other and for that I respect him. I had no idea he was ill and it was only a few days ago I was wondering where he had gotten off to. This is terrible news to hear. My condolences to his family and he...

    Water VISCOSITY

Probably more information than you really want, but this is an interesting topic. It's come up lately on a couple of other forums as well. Viscosity is likely the best parameter that we have to understand how our boats interact with the medium in which they operate. Here's a good reference on...

    UL-1 Water Jacket

So I'm clear, you should hold the motor with your left hand while applying torque with your right hand, correct?? This FE stuff sure is complicated.

    Lipos

They were pretty much closed down until yesterday for the holiday. I'm betting his real job was as hectic as most of ours was coming off the long holidays. Probably trying to get caught up. I exchanged email with him over the weekend, but then he likes me, so I'm not sure what to tell you Doug...

    Lipo Transmitter Pack

For the kinds of loads that we have in a boat they are totally fine. I would not use them in a giant scale plane with 14 x 400 in-oz servos, but for 1 or 2 servos, no issues at all.

    Lipos

I buy all my lipos from Pat at RCLipos.com. His PolyRC brand is the exact same pack at the PolyQuest packs. They use 100% Enerland cells (some of the best and the same as FP uses). He also has fast and free shipping. I've been using these cells in several FE boats, I use the 25C packs, they hold...

    Lipo Transmitter Pack

If you contact RC Lipos they can also make up packs using the Eneloop cells. Spot welded tab, complete with a connector. I am now using 5 cell hump packs in several boats and also have 8-cell transmitter packs. The Eneloop cells are not listed on the RC Lipos website, but they can still provide...

    Lipo Transmitter Pack

I would buy 8 of the Sanyo Eneloop cells. 2,000 mAh NiMH. Charge like a NiMH, holds charge like a lipo. Use the cell holder that came with the radio, pull it and use a regular charger plugged into the plug to charge it. Cost you about twenty bucks to do this. My 3PM runs for about 14 hours on...

    2009 Grand Prix Classic

Great news about allowing FE boats in certain classes!! Allowing the UL-1 is a great idea too! I may have to pick one up if only for this race!!

    Lipo Transmitter Pack

Not sure where you got the idea that higher voltage to the receiver prevents glitches, it has nothing to do with the quality of the RF link or how well the RX deals with interference or internally generated noise. Increasing the voltage to the receiver does basically two things, it increases the...

    Lipo Transmitter Pack

All Futaba receivers pass along the full voltage as fed into them. They do have an internal voltage regulator that drops the input down to what the receiver needs for its operation. JR has a new line of receivers designed for giant scale planes that does provide for internal voltage regulation...

Namba District 19 Race Schedule 2009 (So. Cal)

This is off the District 9 web site: http://www.namba9.net/2008/PDF_Files/NAMBA...s%20Meeting.pdf Maybe it has been changed but if so they have not changed it on their schedule. The Grand Prix noted on the WOR site is anew event to be held at Legg in June.

Namba District 19 Race Schedule 2009 (So. Cal)

The schedule has been out since the 18th. One question I have concerns the first gas race in Havasu. That date conflicts with the Grand Prix Classic that Alfred Lanza does up at Kaiser Cove in Fremont. Bummer to have to choose between races!! But Havasu is 125 miles closer and is a District...
