I use the aquacraft/grimracer tape.....same stuff.

Why? Planning on ordering a case? If you think you are going to get some killer deal by buying it your self, then go for it. You will soon find out that we as vendors make very little money on the tape.

nope,,u couldnt pay me to sell tape mike....im out..i need a couple rolls,,like 2.. i have several places around here that deal with 3m,,,so instead of buying online and waiting days,,i wanted to get it local and save time..just got a UL1,,thing is gonna be a tape eater...not to fond of that whole setup with that hull...

joe...i might have to take you up on a couple rolls...i will let you know...thank you for your offer...

Just as an FYI .We buy tape by the pallet for the warehouse I work in and we have a 3M rep that comes in from time to time.I have given him rolls of the stuff we use for the radio boxes on two different occassions and he has tried to get me the same thing and although it looks identical it is not and leaves a residue.The stuff I bought from Ed mazzola or Need for Speed Hobbies(aeromarine sells it to him)seems to be the best and a little different from what my rep has given me for samples.The proper stuff seems to be tricky to find or match the number to, so i just but the stuff from online vendors

I carry it as well for $10.75 a roll and I had to add the .75 cent to cover handling cost.

I guess like everything If you look hard and long enough you could find something cheaper, or you could just call me LOL.Just kidding.

I have it so if someone is ordering other things and needs some, they can get it.

10 bucks a roll is a bargain,its .003 thick you get a lot for your coin. Just buy it. Mark told me he has to cut it as it comes in a really wide roll.

For electric boats try using the plastic hockey shin guard tape. It's cheap and water proof. You WILL go thru a bunch of tape with the FE type hull. I go thru about 5-7 rolls a year, but at 3 bucks a piece it's not too bad.

Well I don't cut it but I do sell a lot of it. Joe was right the number is #5 and it will be very hard for you to find a 3M rep that can find it for you. It is made for my industry and is only sold to the venders that provide us with the materials for our industry. Like Mike said, you may find it but your not going to get a deal.

So how many rolls do you want.

I went through this exercise a LONG time ago.. things may have changed by now, however YES you can buy the stuff but after I factored in all the hoops to jump through to get it I decided it was worth it to "pay the nice man" and avoid all the steps to do it. The bottom line is the cost savings was not there.

alden, i will post a # tonight, when i get home. there is a differance, some will leave adhesive residue, some won't. i tried a roll of aquacraft tape, left more residue than most any tape i've tried. may NOT have been the grimracer version, i don't remember......i got mine from ed mazzola, great stuff & great guy to deal with.

yes robin,,,,the grim racer tape is different,,, i know the aqua tape you are speaking of... its for sure different.... the original aqua stuff left mass amounts of glue behind,,,i used a roll on my tunnel for some time and always hated it... havnt tried the new grim racer tape but can phisically see that its different... also heard good things about it....... but for 20.00 a roll.... :blink: ,,,,geezum its freakin tape......

hj,,,,,, im not looking to buy in bulk to save money,,,,technically i dont want bulk at all,,,,just need like 3 rolls..... .... im not concerned with the price,,(well unless its 20.00 a roll) ,,, im concerned with the perdicament im in now..... im out,,,and need it a.s.a.p... be nice to take a ride down the road and get it you know.....
