You will regret and hate a 105° putting pipe over the box.

2" 90° will take it straight back. Built many Conquest with a standard 90° too.

Most builds haven't been running 105° headers in the Conquest hull for a long time. Of course now even easier with all the narrow radio box choices available but I see we have a 5" box in it already. 2" 90° goes right on by and straight out the transom.

Actually we have put several inline two cylinder engines in a few of them and both go straight out the back with the pipes.

Your radio will accept a LiFe battery just fine. A fully charged 5 cell NiMh is 6.75 volt whereas a fully charged LiFe 2S after it settles down off charger is 6.66-6.68 volt.
Even the charge voltage used for each of these packs is nearly identical.

I'm thinking your 100% correct about the 105°header...im starting a small collection of them as we speak..and thanks for the LiFe tip...i anticipated the new 100 and 105° pipe had a tighter/shorter bent but no...every pipe is close to the 2" radius..gas bags will be here today and I can put some spark into the engine finally...just a few pics of where I'm currently...thanks for the feed back and I will order one final pipe...90°

You can heat those SS headers and add the little bend you need to center it up too if that 100/105 is what you wanted. Done it many times without a hitch.
But I see you have it fitting and mounted already. Go with it. Not a huge deal. Just makes taping down radio box take a little longer.

I attempted the heat and bend with MAPP gas....didnt work well...I made a 105 with a 5° droop just off the mount and did a braze job on it....but put too much angle in the process....that stuff is tough..

Ok..so this is what I have ended up with...and Daniels racing thank for the suggestions...I took a 100° pipe and made a 90° out of it...trimmed the cowl and did some reliefing under the cowl....

OMG....who is that old guy....haha...
So I was reading some info from the "other boating forum"...and Daniel Place mentioned something about moving the strut closer to the transom....and moving the prop closer to the strut by removing some of the extension...im in the process of rounding the bottom of the rudder..and opened the cowl by the header..and the strut centerline to the bottom of the sponson ride surface is 3/4" above...all hardware is Speedmaster and 5" Speedmaster rudder...comments are very welcomed....oh...I need to also increase the drive dog spacing...

Hello everyone...
As you can see by the huge grin that I finally got a chance to put fire to the engine and water to the hull....I was invited to join a group of awesome boaters and with much needed help got the engine running and made a few passes with the conquest...it ran ok...but not great...needed some adjustments..by the 5th run of the day it was much better and I was getting tired so I called it a day and drove home...
Well I was invited this time to my brother in laws place in central Virginia...Lake Anna...and after some mods and adjustments the boat came alive...im now beginning to believe that a good prop really can make a huge difference...
If you interested in a video or two I will post the link....keep in mind..the first video had nothing done to the boat...never run or anything...enjoy...

Very first run

Second outing after adjustments

Looking good Robert, well done! Its satisfying after you make the changes and it starts to pick up isn't it? :D - lovely looking cat.

Your first run went better than my big Cat! Turns out I had made 2 slightly crucial errors during the build, which caused to get stuck on full speed and being unable to turn. Bang into the bank of the lake!

Repairable though and the engine is fine thank god!

Like you say, lots to learn. Great fun though :D

whatched both videos , she runs well, put a tach on it and check rpms. you can check and make sure the motor is coming up to full rpms. what prop did you run with?
