setting the record straight

To all-

Just to set the record straight, Andy & I did not get "booted off" the rc.boat forum. Rather we have decided to quietly walk away. We have talked back & forth at length & feel it is for the better. There is no hard feelings towards Marty Davis, the creator of that forum, he has contributed extensively to the hobby & should be commended for his devotion to wanting to make it great. It takes a TREMENDOUS amount of effort & time to run such a site as Tom here can most likely tell you. In recent times Marty has been trying to enjoy a little bit of "retirement time" so to speak to enjoy life & left the forum in the hands of his other moderator. It was the actions of this other individual thru personal attack, censorship & improper altering of posts not his own that has led to our decision. We, as well as a number of others, considered those actions inexcuseable & felt a public appology to us & the group was appropriate. Well that has not & appears will not happen, so be it. Both myself & Andy DO NOT want our departure from rc.boat.com to be the cause or justification for "slamming" or otherwise degrading that forum. Whatever happens will happen, we have just decided to come play over at a new pond & share with some new friends. We both have been very pleased with the warm reception from you all & look forward to having alot of fun here.

Look again, I was just informed it's back & BC is carrying on like nothing happened. You wouldn't have seen either Andy or myself back without at the MINIMUM, a public appology by BC to the both of us & all the members, as previously stated. Since it has been this long & nothing such has happened, even if it did we would most likely find no sincerity in it. You will also note that ALL topic forums now show BC as the sole moderator. Let him have his "little kingdom", we will all have a great time over here. B)

i wouldn't hold my breath on an appology from Brian because he is so far removed from reality that he doesn't see that he did anything wrong. He cleaned everything out before Marty was able to see what he said or did. I predict Marty's site will suffer for some time at Brian's hand.

That was one of the first sites that I joined when I first got my computer. It used to be a looser site, more fun but it has become more anal retentive lately. The technical stuff got a little over my head at times. I'm the kind of racer that is happier than Hell if I can just bring my boat back to shore in one piece and without the need for a retrieve boat.

Plus, you can use the word Dykem in here without it being censored! :lol:

Glad to have you over here with us Joe, I think we are all going to really enjoy ourselves!! As far as that "clearing out" thought, don't forget a little thing called "archives". It's there still, just not for public viewing. Like the X-files- "the truth is out there!"

Hi 'Newbies'

Seems kind of strange to call guy's with your level of experience newbies. I frequent any and all boards that may have something to offer me - there is no such thing as too much knowledge. If the actions of one person degrade the forum that Marty put so much effort in to it's a shame. However, the benefit of you guy's joining us can't be overlooked.

There is one thing that really stands out over on this board - we don't let egos get out of control here. There are some real legends on this board and they willingly share their experiences - this makes it better for everybody who loves boating. Mind you we don't mind paying out on each other but in a good natured way.

Andy I really like the technical knowledge that you bring with you and I would admit to understanding about half of what is written. We never get better if we don't push the boundaries and expand on our knowledge through sharing others. From my perspective this is the one thing that we might not have had enough of around here.

All I have to say is the more the merrier and welcome aboard guy's

Funny you used the X-files quote. My wife and I are fanatics. We spent all day today kickin' it by the fire palce watching Season 8 on DVD. Before this format took place I had an alien under my user name. Now it's gone, bummer.
