Brett ok ill do this by the numbers of problems he can have and solutions to them

Problems

1) Not a Roadrunner Tub build by thomas elkins

2) too much propeller

3) dirty needles and filters

4) Twin not set up properly

5)bad Tanks

6) Engines not properly balanced or Not Matched by the numbers

7)Leaning the Motors

Solutions

1) h48/1667 at 63-64 MM 6.5-6.9 T.E. COB at 6.35

2) Get a True Roadrunner Tub from Ralph and get it properly set up

3) Replace needle valves

4) check tanks

5) Flow Meter on the boris mazor at 40

6) check filters

7) throw away the Elkins TUB its junk and use it to build a fire..

8)CMB FAT pipes at 11 1/4- 11 3/4 exhaust ID at .470 with harry G after mufflers

9) 60 % john otto fuel with 18% oil content

10 Balance those motors correctly and dont lean on the motors (typical nub)

11) have a good maintenance program

thats what i would do. My 80 HR Twin ran perfect every time with no problems with the above mentioned at true 89.9 MPH at record trials.. i only had 3 DNF with my 80 Twin for a full racing season doing the above. won the 2011 winternats and every other race i went 3rd or better..

Other than that Thomas Elkins will be more than happy to help him with his junk TUB.

WOW,.. I don't know anything about this boat,.. but the guy just wants to get his boat running,.. so maybe he called it a RR,.. not good thing.. But you guys are ready to sting him up!!

Julian/Joe...I just got off the phone with Nub..its definetly a Elkins tub..i had roadrunners for the last 30years and never had this problem with launching...Needs a new boat? maybe..but i would try the set of H-32"s first..

and if he has his motors in a 90 twin tub?? the 80 motors and props will be much more critical.. The Difference is Prop Shaft Center line wider on a 90 tub 3 1/4......... Boris has built many meters, Different motors 1 & 2 motors 5v and 6v. just balance the motors and put it in the water. If i think back every time i had this same problem... One of my engine had a water leak and was filling the boat up with water and the water could not drain out fast enough.

80 Twins had a 3 inch prop to prop center line........ That is what makes them a 80 Tub....... You can run a 80 engine in a 90 tub with 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 prop center line But it will be hard to launch and critical on engine and prop set up....... But..... the Builder should know this???????? You move those props away from each other and they cannot help each other.... They may run in cleaner water.... But they are harder to get launched too!!!!!!

Pull the water line off and put the H32s On. If it Jets Away??? Come back and put the water line back on.... Then see what happens or changes If it will not run with the H32 or the water line Off?? It is either Engine problems?? (Bad brgs) or Fuel related problems (no fuel pressure).......... Make sure he is not running 90 degree pipe pressure fittings. They love to stop up with old castor.

Nub , send me your engines i'll put them in my 80 boat with my fuel and exhaust system and props and burn a gallon seeing if its engines or hull case closed .

Ya its a copy of what nubs wrecked 2 years ago. That boat launched fine when we ran it the day it we handed to nubs. He has changed so much on that boat its hard to tell what it really needs. Remember he won the twin shootout two years ago with the same boat

Thomas ...... But at that time he was running VAC 91s..... Does the boat have a 3 or 31/4 or 31/2 shaft center line. If he had Vac91`s in it?? It almost tells me it had a 90 Boat tube shaft center line wider than a 80.... 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 Most all 80 Tubs have 3 inch Shaft center line... This is critical when you POWER DOWN to 80 engines....

Ok let's keep this simple we would help any racer in need of help that goes without question. Ralph had tried to help by supplying parts and his knowledge and so have a few other twin drivers including myself It's up to the individual to either accept the facts or not. He assumes the responsibility to do what he wants it's his twin.

Simple way to fix the problem. Drive to Mr. Almirola's house in the same state.

Man you guys are ruff,,, we are not building the next space ship here, its a boat and a brand name that has changed hands a few times with each so called owner making changes as he saw fit. Nubs tub is a 80 size tub , who built the one I copied when trying to get nubs back on the pond who knows.. I myself would never build a boat out of wood again, way to many good products out there that performs better that wood. Nubs has had Ralph build a few sets of sponsons for the boat and is also trying to raise the tube as others are doing, that might work??? But others are also changing the bottom of the hull to go along with this change. I would like to see just one change at a time with this boat but have seen this boat run fine then go back to the pits and not run a lap again all weekend, what changed ?????? Only nubs knows

Good point. But doesn't take the fact it's a scratched build boat. Ralph is not a bad guy to deal with his humbled and I always willing to help. Nub is a good racer and person but going behind Ralph back and having someone else copy his product is not a solution to the crash at Hobart. You guys have no idea what Ralph would do to help his product I'm proof of that and also the help of Joe W and the team has been the best.

I don't have alot of money but if I need help the roadrunner team is there. Like I said before you have people willing to help ask.

I'll add.

When I had engine issues with my Twin and blew 2 motors how Joe W was quick to offer parts to get me Rollin again that tells you what good people we have in the hobby willing to help. Now I don't know if nub talked to Ralph when he destroyed his twin but I would have. That's just me.
