try going 10mm longer and see how she goes, i think you will find it will pull the prop easy,

you will also have to retrim the boat with that prop on it, they trend to lift more than a 460/3 and you can generally run the tabs up a bit higher.

I'm going to have to get a new pipe, or have Mr. Shimizu weld an extension onto the old one, because I had to cut it.

It wouldn't slide over the exhaust manifold. They are exactly the same size. Hmmm! Too late to do anything about it before this coming Sunday, so I guess I will just have to live with what I got for now. I will see Shimizu on Friday, so I can get your pipe and tank. I will send them Monday with the carbs.

Hammer,

i would get Mr Shimzu to weld a larger piece of tube on the end of the pipe so you can slide it over the header, i flare the ends of the macs pipes so i can do this,

I would lengthen it and use a piece of aliminium can wrapped around the header and pipe then put the silicon over the top

The old can trick - beer can's always seem to work the best! HA HA HA.

The can / silicone thing will work as a temporary until you get the pipe welded - that way you can try the prop's back to back easily.

hahahaha usally got a few lying around on a weekend away boat racing!! the bench racing in the motel is usually better than the racing on the water!! LOL

You guys are great with the advice, but I have a problem with the angle. Check this pic out. You will see that even if I make the tuned pipes throat bigger, I wont be able to slide it over the manifold. Hmmmmm I think I #$%&ed everything when I put it together.

Geewhiz! What am I going to do now. I wished that the K90 manifold had more of an up angle to it.

Guess we can't post pics until tom gets everything right.

I will mail it to you Dale

Hammer,

do you know anyone with a TIG welder??

you can cut a V out of the header and pull the angle up more and then weld around it, i have had to do that with CMB headers before, go up to about 18deg and it should be sweet,

i had my exhaust throttles made at 12deg and they are too much for a hydro should have go 10 or 11.

I talked to Mr. Shimizu about the problem with the pipe.

He said that he would make a header for me at any shape

I want. I have seen a few of his headers before, they are really nice. they are polished aluminum. They are as shiny as a mirror.

He Tom, Is that you? Never seen your pic before.

One more question for you Tom: What happened to

all the other pics that were in my threads. Did they get

lost in cyber space?

And my demotion? Hmmm! I would really like to be a Sr. member again. I did a lot of typing to achieve that rank, sir.

With all do respect....Captain.

Have a good one!

Hammer,

Thats a good idea, i can get one made for you if have trouble getting it done, , i have 2 spare k90 headers here now and will mod them to work in the mono or get a 16 degree exhaust throttle made up.

if he can make it so they slide together that would be the best setup, never blow silicon ever again, i do that to all my boats now and love it!!

Hammer.... i don't know what happened to the old attachments????

No that pic is not me, i just picked it real fast to test out attachments.

The ratings are a setting that I can change. When I setup the forum they returned to default settings. Do you want me to lower them again? I can also change the names.

here I am:

The Hawk! I've seen that before someplace. It's funny when you know the guys boat before you know the guy.

Thank god it's the boat and not the girlfriend or wife.

Hammer

would a different brand header fit? Some brands sell 18 degree headers...

I don't know of any big engine headers that use springs to hold them on. Does anyone know of any. If there are some out there, then I will do some measuring. I know that the other guy who deals K90s over here doesn't use the stock header. I'm guessing, but I think the lack of angle is his reason. His headers are epoxied on to the block. I don't like that idea. I prefer springs over epoxy, and bolts over springs. Unfortunately, I'm not given the bold option with the K90.

If there is anything out there, I will check into it. If not, I will have Shimizu make a custom one for me.

Hey Tom! I get this error message right after I click post. The message gets posted, but what is the error all about?

i saw that last nite as well. I dont know the reason. not all posts i made did it???? ill look in to it some more ???

Hammer-San,

I think both Picco and CMB have 18 degree headers and both are held on with springs. ;D

Tim.
