How do those bladder tanks work. Make a difference? I've never used them before. Let me know the pros and cons.

Last day of practice tomorrow before the big race on Sunday. Season final. Should be a lot of guys there. I hope there will be more than 20 in my class. The more butts I kick the better. Just hope I'm not the one gettin' my butt kicked ;D

Actually this race is to show off(promote) the Kingcraft. Don't want them wondering, I want them wanting.

Had a mediocre season this year. 1 win, a 2nd place, and 4 nothin's. I would like to finish off with a win.

Hammer

Hey Hammer,

I showed around that titanium pipe around at our club meet today, everyone was very impressed, one guy may be interested in getting one for his Zenoah boat. Are they available with custom geometry? Ie if I sent dimensions could one be made up?

Ian.

Hey Ian!

I can have them made anyway you like. Could you give me an idea about what engine he will be using it on?

Race results. 1st heat-1st place

2nd heat-1st place

3rd heat -3rd place

overall -2nd place

Had it in the bag until the last heat, but I jumped the start and had to take a penalty. I couldn't catch the 2nd place boat, if I had I would have won all the marbles. I'm not to upset. Not bad for the Kingcrafts first appearance in a Japanese race. Gonna have a Makers tournament on the 8th of December. Shimizu is a registered maker, and he is sponsoring me, so I still have one more chance to kick some butt before I pack it away for the winter. Shimizu was really happy with the results.

Hammer,

Nice work Dude :D ;D ;D ;D

did thed boat perform well?? how bout the motor???

All is happening at this end, boats are just about ready and the hardware is under way!!

Dale

Boat ran great! It did well in the waves and they were big today.

I used the 2 blade homemade prop. It worked great in the rough stuff. I probably would have lost it all if I had used the X460/3 in that stuff. Engine screams! Haven't had any problems with it since the con-rod bearings.

Hammer

Duh! Zenoah

Is it a 26cc or 23cc or a 25cc. Shimizu has them in stock for every Zenoah and other engines in these sizes. They are $210US

each. They are kinda pricey, but I think they are worth it.

Hammer

Congrats on your racing! ;D

It is the 23cc zenoah, I will tell him the price! Do you know if that bolts straight to the engine or does it need a header pipe as well? How do the pipes compare to M&D and Quickdraw pipes?

Ian.

Hey Ian!

They need a header pipe. They come with a silencer that cuts the pinging sound though. Gives it a nice throaty sound. It doesn't have any effect on the performance at all. If he wants one, maybe we can work out a deal with James on our order of Kingcrafts monos. We can send you one, for your freind, and he can pay James 210US dollars, then we will pay James 210 less for our order. I think that would be the most convenient way for transaction. No anyone else that is interested? We have all Zenoahs and .90 nitro pipes in stock. They all come with the silencers. Dale didn't get one, because it was a sample.

Hammer

Oh! By the way Ian. If you go to pg.16 of Riggers from Japan, you can see a pic of the silencer. It is also titanium.

It has been a while since I've dug that far back in to the thread. Somebody said, for that kind of money, it had better adjust my needle, too. Well, Now that I have used it, I can almost say that it does.

Hammer

Hammer,

I will tell him how much the pipes are and he can make a decision from there. I would not get to worried about it untill he shows up with some money!

There might be some more interest when I get the pipe going on my boat, but there are not many 90's in our club, so only a limited market!

Thanks for the info! ;D

Ian.

No worries or hurries Ian. When the ball is in my court, I will send it back to yours. Let me know. I can get them made for anything. even .21s. Haven't seen anything but gas and .90nitros run with them, so other than those, I don't have any reports to give other than they can be made. If you special order them, I can get them with out the silencer as well, but the ones in stock have them. I don't know how much cheaper it will make them without them, but I imagine it will be about 50 dollars cheaper.

Hammer

Ian! The silencers don't do much to shut up a Nitro, but I'm sure it is a little quieter than running them straight. They seem to make a big difference with the Gas boats though. You could slap one of many silencers on it.

Hammer

Hey Dale! I got my hands on a used X457/3 It has divets cut into the trailing edge of the blades right next to the shaft barrel. What are these called. I have seen them often on time trial boats. I don't know what the pitch is, but it seems to have a little bit more bite than the X460/3. The rooster shoots almost straight back, where the X460 shoots up quite a bit.

Hammer

Hammer,

I am not sure, but I think those cuts in the prop are called 'Barr' cuts. Did you get any speeds on the X457?

Looks like I will have to make a 3/16 stubshaft and strut to suit so I can try these smaller props!

Ian.

Hammer,

i think Ian is right with the bar cut, the 457/3 is a fast prop, with some picth it should run some quick numbers!,

you guys need to get a twin 90 class over there, i have my boat screaming now, handles like a dream and running well over 90mph!

Tim D has been a legand with all the help!! thanks Tim, nationals is looking good!

Dale

Sorry! No speeds on the 457. It will be a few weeks. I have a manufactures tournament next week. Shimizu is sponsoring me. I will run the 457.

My shaft that goes through the strut barrel is 7mm and the prop shaft has been lathed down to 5mm, then the drive dog is welded to where the step from 5mm to 7mm is. Works nice. You don't need tempered shafts if you have led teflon bushings, and well balanced props. You can mill down stainless to 3/16 no sweat. Give it a shot.

Dale! You better give it to 'em at the Nats. Not much longer to wait, hah.

Thanks for the terminology on the props.

Hammer
