Looking good Andy..



Our club flew last weekend and I am still testing a new piston design. On my A altitude rocket I have flown to 681' (207m) on an A3-4t. the new piston is a high energy unit that I designed (boring details).. I flew this weekend to 741' (226m). The NAR record at this time is 150m (I have it covered). I do know of a few others working at this record as well so I want some room.

I also flew my new A streamer duration rocket to 1m22sec.. The rocket landed near the ball fields and.. yep.. by time I got to it, it was gone.. The little FI%$ ball playing a-hole coach tossed it in the trash can.. (I found it).



This weekend is GARLO.. our annual launch.. report when I can.

HOW DO 1 OF THREE FINS DRY PERFECTLY AND TWO DONT USING THE SAME DAMN TUBE OF TIGHTBOND =

Im sooooo pissed off/ frustrated and yeah that I dont or cant see straight - what happened ????????

Two of the three fins - the tightbond did no set ?????? WTF - SOOOOOO PISSED .

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I HATE sanding and this just may shelf this kit for a few years .

Its the why - thats bothering me- NOTHING CHANGED .

I was out there last weekend with Bob and John and they were having a hoot of a time and I just enjoyed hanging out with them. Plus 26 dollars for three rocket engines, yeah I'm good I'll stick to nitro fuel it's cheaper

Plus I have two expensive hobbies (guns and boats) I can't afford another!

Got the - "Lets see where we are" coat on the Mega Mosquito - granted this is just a light coat to see all the sanding thats left and most will come back off by then

Not a bad start on the fillets tho-

Never one to just leave em stock- and I dont have paint money

I opted for the scheme we used on the Argent cause I had the colors.

This is just a rough coat to get an idea, but I think Im gonna run with it. The mini is reverse pattern of the Mega and the Mega will have that same single green fin deal as the Argent.

A little more progress- ALMOST there- a few blahhhs I dont like in the paint but its gonna need to sit and cure for 3-4 days before that happens -weather went to crap here, Then rig the recovery system

It POPS in the sun, but it started raining here today so no good pics - I will show ya in the am -lol .

But yeah , I LIKE my new little fleet for under 10 bucks . Yeah I know I built the Flutter By wrong- but it will be just fine LMAO

Dang, that looks bad-ass Andy. Is that gold-flake green, or metallic green? I'm always looking for other options. My one-eyed ass needs stuff that's easy to see. Green seems to do it for me.

Estes Mystic Emerald - There are other options to save some coin if your doing a larger project- for the boats , vinyl is your friend

They are WAY proud of that tiny little can of lacquer

Emerald..Very nice. Oh yeah, vinyl all the way. I just like researching other colors for Heli canopies or other projects. Yes, they are a bit pricey. I painted a canopy a few years ago, and between a few little cans of primer (and a lot of wet sanding), a few cans of color and a can of clearcoat...I could have sent it off and had a real painter do it cheaper!!!!

Good looking Rockets y'all have. Nice pics, too, Grim. I like stuff that flies, so I follow this thread pretty closely.
