Did manage a little work on the Mega Mosquito today , sanding - my favorite part- btw the new smooth sided body tubes are a painters dream/flight fins still suck tho
default_tongue.png

So here is some progress on a flight fin - Seems like I sanded for-ever
default_wacko.png

Very nice kit btw, Sandwiched 3ply fins and through tube locking to boot

Its a love hate relationship, its been a TON of work and to really get it where I want it, I know I'm still a long way out-

If you ever had "one of those " models that got drug out and put away and drug out and put away -

You know what I mean

I finished up the flight fins on my Mega Mosquito today and am about ready to attach them and had a quick question. It seems the fit is nice and snug between the body and the fin root and thats fine- but my concern is getting enough glue on the inside of the rocket to ensure a nice tight bond, make sense ? If I glue the root and slide it in- its gonna wipe the better part of the glue off. Suggestions besides maybe a hypo and drip it in through the slots ? Or am I fine the way Im thinking ?

Well I guess the more I build these silly azz things, the more I learn from past builds and the more anal I tend to get. I spent entirely longer than most would have on fin finish on this pretty basic SL3 kit- but from past experience's ( mistakes-
default_sleep.png
)

I have learned - slow down, go fast is a far better build style (works in racing and replys on here too btw
default_laugh.png
)

My fin fillets and final prep will need nearly a tenth of the usual time for paint / as will the fins- by simply SLOWING DOWN .

This is a great building kit btw and I would highly suggest one for a great flying low and slow model.

Got a little more done today on the Mega Mosquito - this biotch better fly like a dart
default_biggrin.png

The new style body tube and my attention to smooth fillets should have her ready for paint very quickly-

Now it comes to colors- I HATE the factory colors as usual

you are a building machine!
Think colors- I need some input-

The factory Yellow / Black is OKAY , but yeah- you know me Grim
default_rolleyes.gif

I keep thinking a white with two blue fins- of course the theme will still have the Mega Mosquito Logo in the center of the main tube-

from there its open canvass- suggestions welcome ?????

HAZMAT or DDT stickers- lol

Come on over and start sanding and we will get you hooked up with an orange bird Matt -

We can call it Orange Peel and make an all CF min mass specialty 24mm missile , its only money right

Got the Icing on before bed- a little sanding with the 800/1600 in the am and its ready for paint.

I LOVE this stuff, its sooooo easy to sand and fill with.
