I just talked to Kevin Sheren a few minutes ago as he went to the Fort Wayne swap meet today with the gun and knife show in the adjoining room. He said that ammo prices are going nuts, $90.00 for 500 rounds of .22 ammo.

Mark,

Good luck to you and your son tomorrow, Sounds like fun day planed.

Yea be hitting Wallyworld at 7:00am line is bout 15 deep and coin toss if they have what yer lookin for.

Ron,

Prices here are steady its the demand that sux.

Plan to pay 4 or 5 bucks more per box at a dealer that dont bother me but everyone is sold out.

Seems a group of bout five guys are showing up at every store in a radius of me buying them out.

So what do you guys think? Is this smart? This guy will have 10,000 rounds of over priced ammo... Assuming he paid a premium for the ammo. Once supply catches up, the price of ammo will come back down. I don't know... Seems a bit foolish to me to run around buying up ammo like this. .

Yup agree with that Sean,

Im after maybe three boxes of 9mm match grade to have on hand.

But these guy's are cleaning it out,

Gene

They are buy'n up 223, 9mm, 38, 357, 40 S&W and 44 mag........

No, its not smart at all!! Simple ecenomics would tell people NOT to buy right now.....it just drives the price up further.

Not smart just a horder. These are the guy's that will buy it up at regular price then put it up for sale on Gun Broker or at the local gun show for 3 times the price or more. I will not deal with Cheaper than dirt either. They are price gauging also. he is one instance. They have PMC 5.56 55gr XTac on sale for $21.13 for a 20 round box. Sportsmans Guide is close to my place and they are selling it for The regular price of $7.99 a box with a 5 box limit per person per day to stop the horders/gunshow sellers from buying it all up.

This is a VERY informative site for gun rights and political mayhem concerning our rights in the Constitution. Everyone needs to get involved before there is NO Constitution to worry about. http://www.usacarry.com/
I have been watching that and many more pro Constitution rights groups. The scary thing is now if you or your group is pro Constitution. Our government is considering you or your group a domestic terrorist
I know what you mean Mark, but I consider the terrorist are the ones in office, Federal and State. Good luck at the shooting match.

Just curious Robert, Did they let you use the BO target yesterday? Owning a few non- mainstream calibres like the 41 Rem. Mag and 260 Remington help in times like these. Components are not being grabbed up like there is no tomorrow. Reloading equipment is the best way to get accuracy.

If I was smart should have got a Thompson Center with a choice of 15 calibers and barrel length..........

45-70 pistol anyone, BOOM !

Gene

Had one with 4 bbls years ago- 14" 30-30 wasn't bad but the 10" octagon 22lr with a 2X Leupold was more accurate- soda cans @ 100 yds. given some sort of rest. I'd like to try some of the 6.5mm stuff they are producing today.

The current ammo prices kinda remind me of what the oil companies did to gasoline prices. Hold back on production just enough to see demand go up, then jack up the price.

Actually from what I'm hearing the production output from ammo makers is running wide open, people are just flipping out and buying anything and everything in sight. Hopefully things will calm down and we can start seeing ammo back on the store shelves.

The "feeding frenzy" was touched off by our elected officials(like BO and Dianne Feinstein). And now we have people who look to profit from the shortage by buying everything in sight and selling at gun shows at inflated prices.
