those where the first two runs then the wire to the V4 came lose. the boat was way lose on the first two runs. thy where the break in runs so I was running slow then speeding up to check the response.

Could not race it that lose.

Yes two glitches in a row.

If you look at the graft it dose not peek till I turn in. so half way down the straits it only half wound up?

Dose not mater how fast it went. will see how it runs at the race. that is the bottom line.

If I have time at thanksgiving and the extra cash I will put it on the timers then the BS will be put to the test.

Can run it real lose in a two lap by its self. :D

David
David, can you spread out the time scale on the graphs to show the acceleration and so on?

David

Looks good!!!!

I would go with the radar gun speeds(low 80's) over GPS speeds, as there known to give false readings sometimes...

And I can't see you gaining 18mph in the last little bit of pond...

Best of luck...

Regards Aaron
The gun is showing slower speeds because the boat is being shot at an angle.....

I am out of town right now for the week. when I get home this week end I will get the logger fixed and make some new test runs.

Yes there is a lot that you can do just have to have the time.

Don't worry I will post loges from the race in two weeks.

I use my stalker radar all the time..

There ain't that much speed

difference on going a slight angle to the radar...

Hi David,

What rudder servo and rudder blade width are you running in that boat and are you happy with it?

The reason I ask is I'm finally about to assemble my 80% 90-101 Eagle kit which will be running a mod RS101 in it also and haven't purchased a servo yet and am looking for reccomendations.

Thanks in advance,

Tim.

Tim, We have used the Airtronics 94358 in our 90's and twins for years with great results. It has 200oz./in. @ 6.0 volts. Speed is .10sec for 60*.

Savox has some great new servos check them out. 200 in./oz. would be minimum torque you want to have.

Whatever blade you use it must be a parallel blade about 1.1" wide. Made from 7075-T6.

JR DS8711 love this servo 403 in/oz and centers perfect every time. blade is a 1.25 made in Sweden. bolts right on the CMDI mount.

The wider rudder made a world of difference. also the turn fin was made by me out of .050 titanium plate I got off E Bay cheep.

It is 1" wider than the stock piece but the same shape other wise.

These two things changed the prop push problem from the large blades I use from ABC.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys!

I have one of the BB 1.250" rudders from Sweden. Got it not that long ago from Mark S. I believe they are 7075 t6.

David,

With the turnfin being longer - did you use the same L/E dimension or T/E?

Tim.

yes that the same one I got. cut the length to match the turn fin.

T/E 1" longer on the fin.

try just the rudder first. you may not need the bigger fin.

It will all depend on the prop you use.

I am not much of a prop bender. I like to keep it simple so I can reproduce them when thy break. stock props just profile and bar cut. then reduce if needed.

Gonna make some Ti fins for next year and was wondering if 0.050" was thick enough? Any problems so far?

No None at all. kinda acts like a spring. will bend by hand almost 1" and spring right back. tried a 1/8" aluminum backer to make it stiff but the boat did not like it. could not control it would go where ever it wanted too twitchy and darted at the slightest rudder movement.

You only have one chance to bend it. it will not bend back it will snap at the bend line first.

David,

Nice running boat. I am glad you are sharing a lot of good info

So all of us can learn more. I had to order more propellers.

We will talk soon,

Mark

I've talked to Stu about getting the piston mold changed for the 101's. They need to beef up the wrist pin bosses and something else!
