If it makes you feel better great .
Tom, a little respect goes a long way. I don't care if you disagree with me. Lots of smart people out there with opinions. I don't have an ax to grind here. I put my 75Mhz radios away a long time ago. I only run DSM. I agree with the change. If you need to disrespect my opinion, I promise I will still respect yours.

One thing to ponder.. anybody that is new to the hobby OR does sport boating.. the majority are using 2.4.. likely overwhelmingly.

In the circles around here.. in RC cars, planes and boats.. I have not seen a long antenna radio used in YEARS!.. and.. in the end that will continue.. go buy a band new 75mhz radio of any quality today..

Just food for thought.

I'm guessing the people with the DSM issues probably still have a rotory phone and green shaggy carpet just my opinion
I am guessing you have never met or raced any of "the people" you are referring to? Just posting your "opinion" while scrolling and trolling thru this thread without knowledge of the details related to their concerns? Just my opinion ;)

All I know that when I raced namba in the 80s in Colorado what a pain it was impounding radio's and getting a cloths pin clip off the frequency board was a pain then messing with the frequency crystals and it seem like you could only go a frequency higher or low without having issues then when I come back to racing again what a joy it was to have DSM just my "opinion " 😀

Jeff where are you now?! Come race with us! Fly out and we will make sure you have a boat to run!

I would love to live back out in Colorado and race there again but family has me calling the great state of Michigan home but I might bring my grandson out on a road trip to show him Colorado this summer what area you guys racing in I raced out of Denver back in the Mid to late 80s mile high modelers

Not disrespecting your opinion David . No ax really to grind here except 1 - the inconsistent opinion regarding safety and usage of legal proven system by one of the two existing model boating organizations in the USA , 2 - the early exclusion of he system outside of the organizations decision of when it should take place by some clubs in District 3 . That's it
Have a great season .

Jeff
that rotary phone is is in pristine condition and still works. Phone company didn't outlaw them. Soon to be worth 100 times what was paid for it. And that shag carpet still gives the same rug burns on the naked skin as it did when installed. She never said take it out.

Fair, D3 is a really big district and what happens there should be noticed by everyone in NAMBA! My experience both directly and through reputation, has lead me to believe that Eric is a very capable and forward thinking leader in a really tough district with lots of differing opinions. I would look to him to help with any dissatisfaction you may have in this area. My deal is that I am moving into the Grandpa phase of my life and I am actively trying to remove things that do not bring my joy. Just me, but if I was still running 75Mhz it wouldn't be worth the couple of hundred dollars of grief to fight this particular battle, but that's Papa talking!

Cool I still have the push button one with the extendo cord on it so I can go in the other room and talk I finally got ride of the orange shaggy carpet I still have a magun Jr radio to although I don't use it

David,
If you know can you tell me was this rule implemented for safety or for the ease of constructing heats at a contest?
Or perhaps for insurance purposes? If this was for safety then it really missed the mark by allowing non sanctioned events to run the same frequency’s that are being banned for sanctioned events! MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL!

David,
I would rather spend the "couple hundred Bucks" on my grandkids. Not replacing perfectly good equipment. The Hobby already "Couple Hundred Bucks" us to death if you really race and race to win.

Don,
How are you my friend? I cannot say for sure since this was passed by the NAMBA BOD and I was not privy to those discussions and I did not get to vote.
Stay well.

Those who have bothered to read my posts know how i feel about this subject, and i haven't changed my view a bit. However on my last post i conceded than its time to makes apologies where needed and move on. Some how we all need to get past this as we are all involved in a hobby that at least in the case of nitro classes is quite weak. Lets get past the politics and run/race boats, enjoy the hobby and keep it alive. If compromise's can be made, then they should be made for the sake of the next up coming race, and they should be made by BOTH sides of argument. I sincerely hope that this can be worked out by the twin shoot out and for many races to come.

So to the op and others that have questions, why have you not asked the board or the clubs why instead of asking on a forum? Tom you mentioned being frustrated by the different opinions stated in this thread, but opinions are all you are going to get here. Nobody here was involved in the decision. If you have made these contacts, what were you told?
This has been entertaining, but enough already it's not productive for anyone. Sorry moving on.

Ok read the following, Still believe the BS about saftey!!!

Taken off the Namba Prop Wash.

Namba Race Entry Program
RES fully supports the new NAMBA initiative to retire all frequencies other that DSM so there are no longer any requirements for frequencies.

{Again, Not Safety}

Namba should be ashamed how this is being handled.

Namba choose to pick this as a safety issue? And some of you drank the cool aid.

There's a lot we can do to make things safer, better fencing for the new increased max weight of 35lbs ect.

Bill why should I compromise.

Rod Hendricks

Mark,
This is being crammed down our throat and we have not been told the truth.

Some of us are passionate about our Hobby and have been quite for years but enough is enough. Dist 3 has gotten out of hand the last couple years.

The topic for discussion should have been why do racers sign up on the same freq.

Rod i was thinking about the health of our hobby, but when it comes down to it, i dont blame you not one bit for not compromising. I was one of the first people to object to this call made by NAMBA. Mark Anderson describes this as "entertaining"..........i do NOT! Its just a shame that we might just lose more people because of situations like this.
