The wierd thing is there was no other damage to anything inside the engine - how the part of piston skirt didn't do more damage to other parts is beyond me.

It has to have fallen out the exhaust when the motor was at TDC.. Otherwise it would have hurt something else in the motor or you would at least find traces of it in the motor..
