Thanks Julian, that's my design. I have two prototypes running at the moment, and the results are looking very promising. James (kesso2118) has put in a lot of time already and has narrowed down a good setup. The ride, stability and acceleration seem to be the standout features at the moment, and we are just in the middle of finding the best cornering technique for the boat.

Regards,

David

It is a very nice running boat.

I think we should petition to have this thread pinned permanently!!

Ran the HTB/nova the other week. Threw some props at it and got it running nice. Need to have a prop

Made now..

Dave,

Try 0.5mm - 1.0mm spacers between the transom and the engine mount to angle it, then re-adjust the trim angle at the propshaft. Think of using the shim to trim the cornering attitude, and the adjustment in the OS leg to tune the attitude in the straights. When you find the magic angle, you could correct the transom angle in the kit accordingly so that shims are not required.

Also, tweaking the lift characteristic of the prop should make a difference with the cornering too. I talked to James about that last weekend.

Tim.

So who's entering A Outboard at the Caribbean Masters in March? I'll be there, hopefully with the semi-run-in GOOB :p
I will be there if i can finish this job in perth

running either a lynx /os or lynx /nova 35+

depends on testing time on the nova

i will be entering B outboard also the Kaboom is finally back together
Greg,

I was wondering if anyone else was going to be entering their 'B' Outboards, good to hear you will, what about Brad, Kris and Chenco?????

See you there,

James

Thanks Tim! I'm really looking forward to testing with the varied caster angle, neither James nor myself have had the time to get to that stage yet. I think that will be the best solution, because at the moment it seems that the boat likes negative in the corners. In the straights it seems to be able to handle a wide range of trim, from neutral/positive where it really flies, to negative where it's a bit more pinned down and stable but still quick enough. We just need to test test test!

Looking forward to trying a bunch of different props as well. For now I'm trying to get it working well with fairly standard props ie 40x53 etc.

All your advice/tips are very welcome... thanks!

Dave

Cool, so far for A outboard we have myself, James, Brad, Greg (hopefully!). Kris, are you and Louise gonna be around? Anyone else making the trek down from Sydney?

I want to go, but have some **** going on at work that may force my hand. I won't know for sure for a week or two. Murph and Gino were keen on going the last time it was discussed. Hopefully they will chime in soon.

Cool ok I think I might just withdraw my entry now... hang on I thought you were about to sell all your boats and give up the hobby Kris?

Get as much boating in as you can before the middle of the year, that's my advice
