Bruce,

The tank sits on the bottom of the tub. The strips are on both sides of the tank so no height added. The velcro across the top is no higher than the vent tube bubble.

Epoxied a piece of g10 for magnet mounts used some of the 1/8x1/4 bass wood sticks around the perimeter to glue the g10 onto was simple had it fabbed up in no time.I found these mounting magnets on Amazon under 10 shipped I used 6/32 screws to mount them I need to find some 6/32 fender washers for the cowl under the acorn nuts next is sanding and sealing.

I’m worried the cowl magnets will not hold. Lots of vibration !

I agree, hard to imagine them holding during a run.
I did my cowling like , but Brian stated in race water vibration over came the magnets so I added a set of Orange style cowling hold downstairs in addition to the magnets works great now
Please show us pictures and where did you buy the orange style from.
Thanks

I have used magnets before with no issues there’s 20 lbs of force holding the cowl down I have the magnets down far enough that the washer sits in between the tub sides and the front of radiobox to keep it from sliding I may have to put some thumb nuts on the cowl to have something to grab or may drill a hole in the cowl toward the rear I can put my finger in to pull the cowl off it’s really on there.I use magnets on my f41 cat and used magnets on several other boats

Mr Blazer uses the same magnets your planning to use. I have a hull I painted last month that was just built by Blazer marine and it only uses magnets and tongue on front. All my hulls running magnets on cowls and on rough water days we put a piece of tape on cowl for safety.Im proud of Blazer AND myself for setting two 1/4 oval records with magnets(and tape lol) ITS FINE also glue a piece of foam noodle inside and make sure cowl floats.our boats blow the cowls off when they take off at times. Making sure it floats is just as important. My 2cents JP
