Finally started on my G30 after getting basic supplies, work area, blah, blah, blah. I'm a pretty literal guy (it sucks at times like this) and I'm stuck as soon as I get started. Instructions say to "Grab both insides (marked INSIDE)". Well, I don't see anything marked inside. The Sponson should be the longest part on the boat, so I laid them out and took a pic. I assume the top unmarked pieces are the 'Insides' referred to that I'll use as a template to cut the foam?

Update... so I scoured pics/instructions and based on pics/holes I set it up, and cut and it looks good. Guess I'll find out if it's jacked or not as I go to the next steps.

has anyone tried running a strut & rudder on the zip kit tunnel using electric. Thought maybe if I used a inline strut, rudder & mount a outboard cowling to rudder which would make boat look scale, how would it run if I placed prop in same spot as if I was running the outboard. Just some thought. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks & merry Christmas.

I have read a lot about making it less expensive & just thought this idea would help. I realize it would be considered not to be an outboard but with a little adjustment to class or rules this might help newbies into class without spending to much.

NOT TO ELIMINATE ANY CLASS JUST PUTTING THIS OUT THEIR IN CASE YOU CANT FIND LOWER UNITS OR ANY HARD TO FIND OUT BOARD PARTS. I WOULD THINK YOUR FLEX SHAFT WOULD LAST LONGER BECAUSE OF LESS DRAMATIC BEND LIKE OUTBOARD SHAFT. YOU HAVE NO SHAFT HOUSING LIKE ON OUTBOARD. UNDERSTAND NOBODY WANTS TO CHANGE AT THIS TIME BUT IF YOU CANT EVER BUY A LOWER UNIT, IT WILL STILL BE CHEAPER TO BUILD .

Could be really cool, could always fall into the Cat category? Can be given a scale appearance this way as well.

You can go either way. You just want the trailing edge of stumble block to be a sharp edge.
