Funny I was a nitro guy...then a gas guy...and finally an electric guy...and for some strange reason...it took a bit for me to realize that I can move the battery...that was a head smacking moment for me..dohšŸ™ƒ

Eric, here are a few pictures of how all the local boats that I have set up look. A visual picture always helps me instead of what people are telling me. The battery tray and servo mount are 3D printed designs that I came up with. There is a printed esc mount there too. Good luck with your new boat.

Thank you sir! Much appreciated. I like that you chop down the radio box. It crossed my mind to do the same.

Receiver is up front and watertight. Waterproof servo and esc. Water hasnā€™t been an issue for almost a year now. I raised the sides on mine a little to help in keeping the water out when launching or sitting static. But, with the cowling on. There is very little water that enters the center section during a normal run.
I was very skeptical at first about water issues. It has made a believer out of me! Like I said earlier. Right at a year of testing and running. And this is with about ten boats that I have person experience with. There has been one servo failure and no battery or esc water related failures. The servos are $35 ones off of Amazon. The batteries that we use for testing are the same ones that I started all the testing with last November or December.

Hey folks, I'm not sure why you're debating between other mounts and no one has mentioned that you get a 3-piece mount free with the Lawless drives (yes, all of them). It is a "lot like" a K&B, 'cept I make them myself. The pivot pin is captive in the steering arm, so it should never come out. either. You can loosen the screw and remove the steering arm, or leave it tight and pull the pin out with the arm. (after removing the cross screw, that is.)

The mount were discussing was more adjustable mount that super nice.

Also, I emailed you a week ago and never got reply back. Is it better to call you? I was seeing about getting 3.5 quickshot with FE setup using no adapters.

doesnt matter what type of boat ,,u want to put the heaviest thing ON the [desired] cg. that way u dont have to add weight. thats impossible with most tunnels so u do the next best/common sense thing . really these types of questions shouldnt even be questions let alone arguments . no need to call anybody out by name on stuff just explain the science . sad u have to explain common sense but dont blame the messenger ,blame the education system lol
have a good day folks .
remember its always best to keep weight as low as possible as well
