Another surprising part of the G-30's design is it self retrieves when it goes upside down......I had it upside down twice while
setting the end point adjustments and steering rate in the transmitter.....I purposely exaggerated the steering sweep and speed just to see how tight the boat would turn in that rough water....
With only the sealed radio box as flotation in the front of the boat , while upside down the boats rear floats down in the water far enough that the prop just touches the water and the boat pushed itself back to shore......it ain't fast but it does come back......and all the water-proof gear is in fact water- proof.....😂😂😂.....all I did there was put Corrosion X on all the plugs and connectors.....and that worked perfectly 👍

I just sat on this post for awhile so I could gather my thoughts and say what I wanted to say in a chronological and coherent manner.....

As you may recall , for all of you RC outboarders that have followed this effort of the G-30 since its inception , it was my post on the adapter

for .21 /.28 car motors for nitro at a reasonable cost and ease of newbie participation into RC liquid fuel [nitro] outboards......

Well that "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" thread got all sideways and turned into a sxxt show.......enough on that......

If I have the stamina I would like to finish this effort and build a G-30 with one of these liquid fuel adapted car motors and run it for all to see .....Mark Anderson has already built a G-30 with a O.S. XM .21 outboard and he says it is fast and every bit as good as the FE boat....

That would be my final "coup de gras" with this subject....

If I can get Mike Walker to build the boat and David Hall and Mark Anderson to test it I just might do that......
I will make a decision on this subject after this effort sits for awhile and I see how I feel......

I just want RC boating to realize there is an alternative to a massive VISA card balance to get involved in the hobby.....

I have [2] motors that are done and sitting on my shelf , on REK lowers .......I still believe I could build a complete RC nitro outboard for less than $200.00......

This would be a 50+ mph boat running 10% fuel and glo-plugs would last the season......

do you think the boat would be competitive in 6 lap race again the lynx / taboo ,dragon or vision ? Or is this more of entry level boat good for someone starting out.

I think it is impossible to say at this point. There have not been enough G30's built and raced at this point to determine how competitive it will be. The JAE was built on the same principals and has driven past a lot of "Faster" boats.

The aim for this boat, as Rod has stated, is to get people involved with a good running, easy to build, affordable boat that will go out and come back. That said, I have been racing them with nitro and electric power since early last year. The Current production boat with a stock O.S. will run with any stock/super stock boat out there. I have not tested it with mod power, but from previous experience have no doubt it will run great. My very early prototype boat with P-Spec power also will hold it's own. I will be replacing that boat soon with a production boat. It is a bit heavy.

its more of a entry level boat
Definitely a entry level boat in cost but I believe it is going to be very competitive.......A big price tag does not make a winning boat......
The G-30 is easy to build and the builder will learn some skills rather than just inserting a debit or credit card into a reader......

The retrieve tug I built uses pieces of a pool noodle for floats and a rubber ball on the end......just go out and circle the boat you are trying to recover a couple of times and tow it back......my tug is running 3S and it will bring a Thunder boat back full of water......
This is a Zippkits kit and all the hardware is available from Zippkits.....
I am using a $25.00 3 channel radio from Hobby King......It all works great......
I used parachute cord for the line .....it floats and is easy to see.....

My 35 years of building tunnel boats.....taking into account the torque available in todays brushless motors....
Does that answer your question.....
naa, I reckon you stole it ;)

Edit: Just to be clear, I WAS JOKING LOL (seems some actually thing this design is stolen) SORRY Rod and crew... it is funny how some get butt hurt so easy over new design that might "steal" some $$, rather than seeing it for what it is ANOTHER BOAT ON THE MARKET AT A VERY GOOD PRICE!!!

Designs speak for themselves, who cares about there being more to choose from, especially at such a low price.
