Who makes them and where can you get them ?

Also, are you only allowed Zenoah type outboards or can you use a K/B .82 or 1.00 for the class ?

You can get them from either Aero Marine boats they have one or you can get one from Oval Exspress Racing / James Clegg I am sure he will chime in here and to answer your question we do not have an actuall class for them yet per IMPBA or NAMBA rules but you can run them in IMPBA open tunnel if you get one. And in open tunnel you can run >82 or 1.00 motors thats why we call it open. I think there might be another builder called Zipp Kitt not sure how availible they are.

Zip Kits does have a kit now and also, don't forget Woodstuff boats. Mike Crawford builds one heck of a nice boat. Here are pics of my Woodstuff.

I also have an Aeromarine and an OSSI. The OSSI isn't done yet, but will be for this season.

I forgot all about Mikes boat your right that is another fine boat.

Thanks walter

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Aeromarine. Unless you know someone that has one and has made major changes to the boat.. Boat just does not like to turn.. At least that is my opinion of the boat.. I was happy that mine sold at the Tunnel Champs.. Didn't want to drive back home with the boat.

I ran the Zipp Kit at the World Tunnel Champs.. If it weren't for the nut behind the wheel, think the boat would have done better at the race. With no practice time, except open water Friday, we were still trying to dial in the motor. There was one good run that I did have before the motor overheated. This boat turns at any speed without issues.

Believe Joe Petro, owner of Zipp Kits, stated the boat will be available in May 08. For $169.00, it beats all other boats in the price department.

Guys, I am not selling the Ossi hulls anymore. Sorry!

But, for the price, its hard to beat that Zipp Kits boat! (or you can get Walts boat, its already built!)

Thanks for the mentions!

We will be releasing the Illusion gas tunnel in May, if all goes as planned :D

Having seen the Woodstuff tunnels up close, and meeting Mike Crawford, I can tell you for sure that his hulls are works of art, and he is a true craftsman.

If you don't want to build a hull, his would be the way to go.

However, if you like building, or just like the idea of a $169 kit (with cowl), then give us a look.

We will be testing the boat with a working engine on Thursday, and hope to get some video and setup points then.

Any updates will be posted on our site.

We really think that this is an emerging class, and want to help it grow, any way we can.

Thanks again,

Joe Petro

I almost forgot that there is also a boat manufactuer in south Africa that builds the 1/4 scale gas boats his web sight is YoungsRC boats or some thing like that he sells whole packages ready to run boats and parts for them. They reasemble the ossie boat to me.

working engine

What's your point there Joe?

Been under the weather, haven't had a chance to head out myself. The 257 is mounted, used a XXL throttle arm laying around and the throttle cable is below the steering arm. Working sweet so far, just need to test!
