Anybody got a 1974 vintage crapshooter for sale. It would be fun to add a new servo, turnfin, and mac engine in one and race it against the latest and greatest just to see what happens. If I remember right I did a review on one about 1974 or 1975 and it was a very simple and light model. Mine was a 40 size. Started the os max 40 with my thumb on a knurled aluminum flywheel. Raced it at the 75 Indy nats. I remember Bill Lefeber going something like 80 to 85 mph for a speed patch that week with Joey's boat I think. We don't race much faster than that today.

This is true. I think Joey built the boat for Bill. Solid shaft on ball bearings. Weighs a ton.

I still have my Louis Durand 90 Water Spider with an OS 90 RSR and hard shaft set up. Would that qualify? It was my first inboard rigger i built in 1982.
