Thanks Ian, that really means a lot to me! It actually sounds a lot better in real life!Glenn,
That looks like it runs great, and I think it is the best sounding model boat I have ever heard!! B)
Great job Glen boy you could hear just how choppy it was in the back corner Looked pretty fast too! Wisxh you could make it here so Mark and Doc could see the baby twin.
AC, yes I think there is a performance advantage with the wires in the smaller boats. I use them in ALL of my .12 stuff now and am putting one in my new .21 boat (thanks to the development work by Charles Perdue).all makes sense glenn... thing is for sure no slouch......i remember you saying that you had switched over to the wire drives you use... did you see a noticable difference between the cables and the wires?????
the absolute coolest thing about a twin .12 rigger,,, is that they could be built at a reasonable price... this puts the "average rc boater" in the runnings to build one... this alone makes the cool factor way higher...........
i love it glenn,,, and now that you have a new found love for it,,, i hope to see some more video's.... i would be interested in seeing what it does on the gun...

Under the pipes.. Joe talked to Glen acouple of days ago to get info add measurments.. Joe is going to build a twin JAE.12.. I think he's nuts but I know he can pull it off. after watching Glen twin.12 running that got joe really going on building his own.Where are the fuel tanks?
No, the motors will be completely separate...each motor with it's own drive shaft. The gear box is just to adjust the prop RPM (bigger prop turning slower) to motor RPM. It lets the motor get up the to RPM band where they make their best power and I think the bigger props run a little more efficiently. It also turn the motor around backwards so the pipe comes straight out the back.Hi Glenn,
"Twin .21's with gear boxes". So would that be twin .21's geared to one prop shaft? Can that be done without clutches? Would spinning one engine turn the other engine? So you start the first engine and then just put the glow driver on the second until it starts? Would you gear for higher or lower rpm's at the prop?
Sorry for the loaded questions, just interested in the project....
Thanks.
Thanks! It makes mess inside the boat, but it does look kinda neat in the video with the smoke coming out the bottom.Alright that is just sweet!!! I want one!!!! I like the exhuast exit through the bottom of the hull.
O.K. thanks for the details. I've seen those gear drives, they seem to use them allot in other countries. They run them in Delta Force monos...No, the motors will be completely separate...each motor with it's own drive shaft. Friends, I finally have a bit of video!!! I was pretty happy with the way it ran again today, but of course a new issue showed up. The afterrun oil I use is very slippery (Mobil Jet One) and if I don't clean the pipes and couplers really good before I put it together, the coupler slides off the pipes. It did it each run today so I never got more than a few laps. But I was happy overall. I was running the largest set of 1440 props Mark built for me. You can't tell in the video, but the water was really bumpy on the left end and back straight.
