Start at 10 and 3 daughters and go shorter from there. OMHO
Who are you telling they are running Too Small of a prop? That's a small prop for a sport 40, step up to a x448,x450 2 blade run the pipe at 9 3/4 to start and lengthen until desired speed is achieved. Like Anthony said reduce water flow head temp should be about 140-160 when returned to shore after 6 laps WOT.
I was trying to figure that out earlier. A 648, and 450 is bigger then a 448.Who are you telling they are running Too Small of a prop? That's a small prop for a sport 40, step up to a x448,x450 2 blade run the pipe at 9 3/4 to start and lengthen until desired speed is achieved. Ditto!! Around 10-1/2" with a 450My set up is a Phil Thomas with a CMB and a Andy Brown parabolic runs great at that length
Exactly why I don't like running the pipe too short.I always liked being able to get on the pipe with ease, Im sure I could go shorter than 10-1/2". But didn't want to mess with the heat race drivability.
