Friends, here is the next generation sport .12 SAW boat I have built for Donna. Since the IMPBA sport .12 rules specifically allow models of scale two wing hydros, I thought I would scale down a T-4 and try it! I haven't had a chance to weight this one yet, but hoping it will be in the 1.5 lb range RTR.

Yeah the canoes are mostly 1/16 balsa over foam and the tub is 1/8 balsa sides with 1/64 ply top and bottom. The bulkheads are carbon/honeycomb . The wings are 1/16 balsa over foam also.

I'll post more pics when I get it finished.

Got it finished up a couple days ago. Final weight (without cowling ) is 1lb 11oz. It's a little heavier than I wanted, but it is a bigger boat. I have run it a few times and after a couple sponson changes it is working good!! Going to design and build the cowling today (hopefully it doesn't change the way it runs!!).
