I found out that if I apply a little sand paper on a dowel to the inside of my .21 parabolic pipe it will slid over my MAC 21's header. Kinda like a trombone. If I set it up like this, am I asking for trouble?

I run mine like that & it works great! I just taper the inside of header to give it a smooth transition. My single & twin 84's with the AB67 pipes are the same way. B)

Don, you taper the inside of the header? My pipe fits over the header, so I wouldn't need to taper the inside of the header. Do you or should I still use a silicone coupler?

Yup!

My pipe fits over the header, so I wouldn't need to taper the inside of the header.

Yes you should. You want a sharp edge on the header for smooth flow, not a blunt edge. Every little bit helps, especially on a 21.

Do you or should I still use a silicone coupler?

Yes.

Ohhhhhhhh, I see what you meen now. You taper the inside of the header so as to not disturb the exhaust flow. I think we're on the same sheet now. BTW, are the MAC pipes/headers made to fit that way? And why are'nt you out blowin something up. It's the fourth of July! We're fixin to! :p

You're talking to someone who has 25 gallons of pure nitromethane sittin' in his shop. I definitely am capable of blowing things up. Pardon me while I go light the fuse.......... :p
