Let me make something clear. The business is still going to be around it's just that I won't be running it. And it will be a couple of months or so before that actually happens. I didn't put the business up for sale I was approached and asked if I was interested in selling since I was stepping away from racing and selling off a bunch of my fleet. I set a number and based on what I had been seeing in selling off my boats I didn't think it would be met. Well one guy did.

So for the time being I am still getting out what I can when I can and I will be drawing up a couple more boats before it's all said and done. And I'm sure that I'll still be helping in an consulting role for a while afterword.

Still getting some orders out here and there but it's still slow for just a little longer. I will get a few more out this week and next. After next Wednesday I have to back burner graphics for a week to wrap up stuff with my regular biz and then I'll have a lot more time to finish what it on the boards.

Ok I've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news first and that is I have to backburner everything for about a week so I can meet all my deadlines for next week. The good news is that it appears the sale of my business has fallen through. The buyer had missed two deadlines for completing the sale and had not been reachable for several weeks. Today he finally contacted me and told me he is not going to be able to meet his financial obligations if he buys me out. So it appears I will be continuing BAU for the foreseeable future. So once I get past next weeks deadlines I will have a lot more time to get stuff out so there will be a mad rush of stuff getting out after the 14th or 15th. BTW here is some more eye candy for you as I get shots of completed boats back from time to time....this is Mitch Dillard's 10th Scale 85 Squire.

Back in the office today working on clearing out the back log of graphics orders. Got past deadlines last week and now I have time to get back to graphics only for a couple of weeks. I do have one more deadline on 12/13 to meet so the week leading up to that will be kind of a black out period. After the 13th it'll be graphics only for a while. Sorry again for eht wait but I'll be returning a ton of emails and phone calls in the next couple of days.

No Rick there is no "new guy" anymore. The deal fell through. It just became official last week. He had a deadline to return a signed agreement and post money in escrow and it didn't happen. When I finally got a hold of him he said he wasn't going to be able to do it. So it's back to business as usual for the foreseeable future. Just as well I was catching a lot of grief from long time customers. I'm not actively looking to sell the business it's just these guys came to me seeming to be pretty motivated.

Sorry it didn't work out for you Mike. All for the best I guess.

So what is your guestamated turn around time for the 78 Circus graphics.

A couple of things I wanna address as I move forward here. This has come up twice of late so I thought I would address it here. It is with regards to printed graphics. Most of my sets have printed graphics in them. Some have more than others and some are almost all printed. I send along a sheet in every order explaining that printed graphics need to be cleared over to protect from chemicals, abrasion and UV. However, in preparing to clear a boat most wipe the boat down with Denatured Alcohol or something else before shooting clear. A couple of folks have gone over the decals with it and ruined the decal prior to clearing. In these last two instances I replaced the decals that got ruined for no charge. However, I will not do it again from now on.

Also, USPS has had some issues of late with regards to Click N Ship and tracking. Basically it only works half the time. I have had some labels that have not scanned correctly and the package was held at the local PO. I have also been getting emails about orders that are en route but USPS says they have only received the pre ship info. I have the same issue with a package I am expecting inbound to me. I have 8 orders that have gone out so far that I have requested email tracking on and only 3 of them are actually tracking like they are supposed to. USPS tried to tell me that maybe there was something wrong with my email on file. Which is stupid because I told them that some are getting to me but not others. So at the moment I don't have an answer on that.

Mike< as per your statement,on the decals being wiped with denatured alky or some other cleaner, I have worked with your graphics on a few boats, as with any graphic I never use a solvent based cleaner of anykind.i always apply the decals as per manuf, directions and use nitrile gloves to avoid getting dirty smudge prints from oily fingers.. at the bodyshop I am emloyed at we use standox products( a division of formerly Du pont, now Axalta} they have a fantastic water based cleaner, thats is the only thing i use on the boats after graphics are applied, has worked for me for years, maybe your clients could check with their local jobbers and get a comparable product, just my 2 cents.... will call you with a thunderboat graphic order in the following months..have a good turkeyday....( i am the painter that painted Ed Krumnows boat in your gallery, all graphics were applied and cleaned in the way I have described) thanx......larry

Thanks Larry. Appreciate the comments. Straight water is the best thing to use and rub lightly. Because like automotive paints the inks that are used today from Eco-Sol to Full Solvent are still subject to chemical damage. For boats that aren't being cleared I usually put a laminate on but that doubles the thickness so I don't do it for scale boats.

Also, issues with USPS of late seem to be alleviating. They are still not perfect but tracking is at least working better from the last few batches of orders that have gone out. The backlog is diminishing so I may have some drawing time again here soon. I've got a few boats that some have hit me up for to be drawn.

Do you have the updates to do the 2014 Oberto in 1/8 scale?
