Don f. I have the latest with the 603fs and mounted the reciever at the top of radio box so all the antenna is stright up about 4 inches away from the muck pipe but the pipe is lower than any of the antenna. use the 5cell 1600 pack, if by chance i make the 2nd connie i bump up the pack cause low voltage does play loss of signal problems. grim racer, on the rocks? i'll drink one of them but don't want any (more) of my boat on them. Mike Hughes, you and Ralph Kemp have the same philosophy on radios and you both have a ton of them, you lucked out and got into a good thing back then. us others are just looking for a resonable radio that will get us by. I have always replaced the on off switch every year but after using the futaba digital on off switch which is double pole inside and much larger (which I ruined taking it apart for inspection) found it was mint after a wet year. it will carry more amp load with out breaking down like , turning and throttling at the same time in the corner just as its making the transition of going away from you as to comming back to you. don't know why but thats when the radio problems occure. found less problems with big switch and the special " Mike Bontoft " tampax in the radio box. If you don't have a tampax in the radio box your getting all wet. as mike put it to me , " quote" the tampax companys put millions of dollars into how to dry things up and there on to somthing. don't know how many times I untaped the box and its all dry execpt the tampon and it's full. loose lips sink ships. sorry Mike but the rc world needed that one. gwg
