I see guys posting top speeds with their boats. Does the radio give you anything other than top and average speed. Like, at what point or location on the water was the top speed reached? Can you download a visual on your phone or laptop. Probably dumb questions but I have been just using a radar gun on a tripod and better info is the only reason I would spend the extra money on a new system.

The Telemetry gps shows running speed and saves top speed for that run. You can reset the top speed by touching the speed on the telm screen and it reset to current speed. I usally too busy to do that while racing HA
Someone here had the program to link the futaba data to google earth or somthing like that.

I'm looking at gps trackers and it "looks" like i could do the same thing with one of those for under 100. Only issue is there are tons of different models.
I just bought all new Rx and gps for my boats. I actually was using them at the Gas Nats a few month back.

It doesn’t map a track out on your TX nor have I found anyway to download that information from the Futaba software.

It will tell you current speed, and top speed as stated above. It can tell you distances between the TX and RX and altitude of the gps unit. I personally wanted it for testing props. With the help of someone I can tell how far I’m pulling and where on the corse the boat stop pulling. And also, as a quick reference for me at a race to see if my boat is running at the speed it should be running at after every heat.

I know years ago we all bought Garmen hand held gps that you could get a corse displayed on. It also gave top mph and those were all about 100.00.
