I bought a fiberglass Dumas Short Stuff which specifies that I need to use polyester resin for a promising hold between the deck and hull for life. I have had a hard time finding polyester resin and finally sourced a local paint and body supply store that had some in stock. They did have any quarts from the maker available (back order) so he offered to pour me some up out of a gallon can. I didn't see him pour it and he put fiberglass resin on the can when I came to pick it up and he gave me the impression that he might not have given me the right thing so I need to make sure so I thought I'd ask y'all if the description is right. It's dark in color (greenish) and pretty viscous. Any help would be great. Thanks!

P.S. Since I finally (maybe) have the resin, I might be have some question throughout the build. Thanks in advance. :)

fresh activator I might add, I recently fell prey to spoiled mek while glassisng a stuffing tube , if it smells like vinegar pitch it for sure, it won't set up forever

Sounds right. For bonding decks to hulls you can thicken the resin with baby powder or talc before adding the hardner, it will stay in place better, thicker join and sand easier when its hard. ;)

Oh yeah, Hardner (MEK) will blind you if you get it in your eyes so make sure to be careful, wear gloves and wash your hands after you glass!
