offers or deals pending is not the same thing i had a deal pending i even ask him if he would be at the race in Atlanta it not hard to figure out that i was going to buy it !If there is any legitimate offers or deals pending between a potential buyer and seller....
You did not have a legitimate offer....
You made requests for shipping information.
Remember... it takes the three magic words at the time of the question to take the sale off the table.
Everyone here seems to understand that rule and accept it. Except you.
It's not that hard to understand.
I'll take it, let's all others know your serious.
Rule 5 applies in its entirety, you can't just pull out bits and pieces and apply it to your narrative, just because you didn't follow it. The rule also states that saying " I'll take it pending a question" locks the deal in until the question is answered.
This is where you failed.

Yeah but people ask all these same questions all the time then never follow through . That's why everyone sticks to the Ill take it being the final call on who gets it. If not there will be 5 tire kickers acting interested and no one ever says ill take it or will say decided to pass. Its just how this site works. I would say its Mikes being he said ill take it. I was almost going to say it just before him and grab it up . anyone could have . he just got there first with the I take it.offers or deals pending is not the same thing i had a deal pending i even ask him if he would be at the race in Atlanta it not hard to figure out that i was going to buy it !
I see people ask for shipping costs all the time. Not only here but On other Forums as well. And more often than not they pass on the deal. To me that Is never an Indication of a done deal. The I will take It, rules the day. IMOHi guys,
I am sorry this has turned out to be a S show. I have read over the posts, as well as other peoples interpretations of them. I have also tried to reconcile these with the forum rules.
When Rodney first asked for a shipping quote, my assumption was that he had no issue with the asking price. I think this could be seconded by the immediate following post, which stated that the party would be interested if Robert passes.
That being said, there are some nuances that Don and Grimm have pointed out that seem to carry water.
In order to preserve the peace in this forum, I am going to agree with Grimm to cancel the sale. This is the only way that I can see to make sure that no party seems harmed in the deal.
I will and estate complete with Boats. and Engines, and I feel the easiest way to avoid this situation in the future, is to guesstimate shipping on the safe side, and offer everything at a shipped value. If somebody wants to offer less, that will be considered, however, any full price offer will secure a sale for future items.
Does this seem fair?
