Thanks Anthony, was wondering where you went. Then I read your other post.

As far as the my boat goes it is air cooled so no water for me!!! Have not had any problems with the needle just getting the engine or flywheel to turn over as this little beast is super tight.

Question on the needle I'm sure will come later. But I was wondering what some of you guys are using for the 12's as far ad a needle goes...

.12's are hard to get running. I don't run them anymore but I did for many years,,, before most people ran them,.. a couple things on a new /12

- run it HOT,.. no water for break in.. maybe 5-7 tanks.. running blubber rich where it will harldy get on the pipe at all. Then restrict the water to at least to about a 0.050 hole in the head.

-start small on the prop and creep up on it..

-run as much nitro as you can get

-Start your pipe long and creep up on that too,.

Change one thing at at time and run 3-4 laps, then adjust..

You have a really nice boat.. It will be so very rewarding when it hit's that pipe and starts to sing.. The .12 riggers are very fast and can be run in smaller ponds.. But they really can be a challenge to get set up..
Everything Anthony said is dead on.I tried for a whole summer to get my 12 running and never did. I wish I knew what I know now LOL. There are so many factors that come into play with 12.Also make sure your head clearance is where you want it ,also they love high nitro. My 2 cents

Finally got a little reward tonight!!! Its alive!!!! Well the first video is up the other one is still loading. I was able to get her started a bit easier with the bigger belt and ran a couple more tanks through her on the bench. Then I was able to run several tanks through her on the water and with the help of my little munchkin,,, she got some video for me!!!

My pipe was a bit longer then reccomened for breakin running 40% and need to move the ski forward a bit and see if I can get the strut lower and perfect level from sponsons to ski. In the second video thats loading I hit some weeds or something that slowed me down and freeded up my rudder servo mount:( This caused a pull to the right....

Other then that it was near perfection from the first time I dropped it in the water handling wise!!! Just need to take out more steering on the radio.

Kevin,

Sounds pretty good on the water. The motor is starting to spin up more. How big of carb

Do you have on that motor? .300" bore? I think it needs more.

The turnfin has too much angle on it, try to level it out a little more. In the straights

you see the water coming off the fin. Watch the videos again you will see it.

Is that the 1440 B/C ? Pipe at 7" now? Now just a little more fine tuning and it will

be ready to race. You need a bigger pond.

Lookin Good,

Mark

I thought it looked like it was getting pulled down or stuck on the water,,, as if the turn fin is dragging a bit or to high. Could also be my sharpening skills... I also thought my tub was level but I need to move my ski forward and raise the back of the tub a bit and maybe lower the strut a bit more.

The pipe I'm guessing maybe a bit over 7 and I am using that awesome prop you sent me:) Figured the longer pipe would help with the break in runs. I will shorten after some more fuel goes throuh her!!! Cannot waite to hear the sound and rpms she will make!!!

Frank only had the .275 carbs available so that is what I have to work with for now. I have the thing super rich on shore to the point it is spraying tons of extra fuel and hard to keep at idle with out using my high idle button on transmitter. Not sure where to go for a larger carb?

Take it easy on me I'm new to the outrigger scene and will take all the help I can get:)

PS that is just my micro test pond only 20 minutes away!!! I can test changes but if I have a boat thats hard to get on pipe I will probably not be testing it there!!!

Thanks for all the help guys!!!
