David sharpens both sides to the bend then sharpens only outside of fin from that point.

On my JAE style boats, I had to sharpen the inside a little because the boat would drift outward of the course.. not turning but drifting,.. sharpening the inside a bit helped with the drift

I think the next turn fin I get I will let David do the sharpening:) I think I did alright for my first fin but could have or will do a bit better.... Needs a little more attention at the top...

Next task is putting the that little pipe toghether and getting the drive line figured out!!

My 45 JAE DP fin is only sharpend on outside. The JAE 21 fin from zippkits is also sharpend on outside. I do have to add left rudder to keep them going stright. Would like to here more imput on this.

If you need to add left rudder your scrubbing speed, Toe-in the turn fin sponson about 1/16 inch, The front of the sponson 1/16 in closer to the tub than the back of the sponson. Then it should go straight,.. but then it also starts to drift a little,.. then you end up sharpening the inside of the TF a little..

I just got a DP .45 turn fin and the instructions that came with it recommend sharpening both sides down to the bend. We also tried this on our .12's and .21's and it helped. My .12 also seemed to track straighter with the rudder mounted on the left side rather than the right when looking from the rear.

Since this is my first time setting up a turn fin.... Is the bend line or start of bend supposed to be parallel to the ride surface??

Kevin, you want to start with the bend parallel to the tub bottom (which should be level at ride height as well)

Ohh boy.... Looks like the file needs to come out!!!!

Cute vid of the little one climbing the other day also!! They only go higher and quicker from here on out!!! Mine climbs the handles to get on the counters and damn near runs across the counters now:(

Thanks Kev! She is getting big quick.

And if its off a little, you can also enlarge the holes a little with a drill bit.

That line is where the bend starts and if you are saying it needs to be at the tub bottom height I will need to do alot more then eeeeeeeeelongate the holes!!! I will darn near need to re drill the TF...

Bolt it on there and give it a shot before changing anything. Joe built the sponsons and David drilled the fin. So the holes should be in the correct spots
