Looking for a club to host the 2013 Internats/Nats. Any clubs interested please contact Don Ferrette, Kevin Sheren, or Chris Rupley.

Thanks,

Kevin

im more in favor of a Internats for US1 not nitro nats.. wold be nice to have the US1 format..

To know what you are getting into, the nitro nats is generally 4 days in length and is all heat racing. The Internats, with the US-1 time trials included, is 8+ days in length. There are few people that can afford to take a week or so away from work in this economy. The Internats require 3 sets of trophies to be provided by the host club. One for the heat racing and one each for the oval and SAW time trials. It is a huge cost. And a banquet is required to be provided. The poor economy hurt the attendance for 2012 Internats this year and the CMB barely broke even. We will not likely host the Internats again. But we may do the nitro nats in the future. We are hosting the Gas Nats in 2013.

Guys as much as I like doing the US-1 format unfortunately what John said is spot on. I know for a fact that because of the economy the long format this past season cost Charleston no less than 40 boats and it was probably closer to 50 from people I personally know would have been there had the shorter format been used. Many of the racers who could have attended had it been the heat race format are known for running at least 4-6 classes each and that's just the ones I knew about. There has been some discussion amongst the board members and we are looking into the possibility of doing "zeros and fives". In other words the full US-1 Internats would be done every 5 years with the next one being 2015 then 2020. Regardless if any clubs are considering the possibility of the heat race format please let us know and don't let the thought of being pressured from others into the long format dampen the idea of hosting an event. A lesson was learned in that regard and we on the board will stand behind whichever format the host club chooses.

Guys,

The VooDoo Model Boaters would love to host this race. I have put a call in to Chris Rupley to let him know that all the officers of the club have discussed it and we would be glad to put on this race. We have one of the nicest facilities in the country with plenty of parking and pit area and feel it would be a great oppurtunity for everyone. We have a lot of experience with big races and we would consider it an honer to host the Nitro Nats.

Hope we can make it work.

Don,I will give you a call on Monday. The first post listed Chris, you and Keven as contacts and I had to call Chris anyway so I figured I would let him know during the conversation. I have talked to the officers in the VooDoo club and we will commit to taking the race.

Thanks

Talk to you on Monday

Don;

want me to check with Chilli on this?
The only way this would be feasible would be if the Capitol club could get the old Springfield site back. We held National level events there in the past and it's size, location, proximity to hotels, food etc. would be prime. The current location is too small and the rules governing inclement weather and the property make it too risky based on what mother nature has done to us in recent past concerning races.
