Lohring,

Do you know why the telemetry setup is only available to USA customers?

I looked it up and think it's now a fantastics system. Real F1 type stuff. Just hope they can sort out the speed sensor.

We just got our Seagull telemetry system and are planning to run it today on our straight line gas rigger.

I think the unit probably contains some state of the art micro circuits. It's probably too much of a hassle for such a tiny company to get a the permits required.

Lohring,

We should be bringing them into Oz within the next 4 weeks or so. These things will make tuning a twin much easier.

The Seagull ran flawlessly on our rigger. We only transmitted rpm data back, but it gave a good idea of propeller performance without needing to plug the data logger into a computer. Later the rpm versis time data can be downloaded, graphed in a spreadsheet and analized. The accelleration data is a surprising match with an inertial dyno power curve. If you have a peak radar speed reading, the rpm is a good speed indicator. We were only measuring straight line accelleration, but cornering speeds could be measured the same way.

I think exhaust gas temperature will also be a useful measurement. Quickdraw says that mixture is critical for peak power, and EGT is a good mixture indicator. It could help on nitro boats with third channel mixture as well.
