anyone having any problems with the flex drive shafts ??? our keep breaking in the center of the curve stuffing tube
 
Maybe not your issue but
Most shaft breakdowns occur because inner core does not have lube.
Suggest torching in 90 weight oil to the cable prior to install.
Apply oil and flame over shaft to aid in penetration.
Then install and put oil in Oiler and go race!

The make  a cable penetrating lube . Best 1st application is to but it in a pan and let soak over night

I have been running this class for years. Yes, in the beginning I had the same issue. Two things fixed it. First, make sure your cables “float”. Most are too long and bind when you totally insert the prop shaft assy. Trim the cables so when the shaft assy is fully inserted, there is end play in the shaft assy. You may also need to file the square ends of the cables so they easily slide in and out of the engine pto end and prop shaft end of the cables. Floating cable is key. Second, follow the advice above. Add an oiler somewhere at the engine that will constantly supply oil the entire each time you run the boat. You can play around with sizes to assure once filled before launch, will last the entire run. These two solutions will extend cable life substantially. Later, also replace the teflon flex tube inside the lower using stainless brake line. A tubing bender will help you get the bend right to fit the lower. This substitution will add even more life.
